We started Gear West 28+ years ago because of our passion for cross country skiing, triathlons and running. Since then, we have grown into one of Minnesota's premier independently owned specialty sports businesses. Our 15000 square foot main store, Gear West Cross Country Ski and Run, offers the largest selection of cross country skis and equipment in the United States, as well a

s over 2100 models of run, walk, trail and track shoes. We also display apparel and accessories from over thirty manufacturers. Our second location, Gear West Adrenaline, carries casual clothing, alpine and snowboarding equipment, soccer and lacrosse gear, and skateboards. We previously carried triathlon equipment and bicycles, but this proved to be so successful that it broke off to become its own business, Gear West Bike & Tri, owned by a previous Gear West employee. Each of these departments was born from our passion for sport and for ensuring the highest quality FIT and SERVICE we can possibly provide to all who walk through our doors. The combination of all three businesses forms the Gear West Specialty Sports Campus on the east side of Long Lake. Visit us at the store or on the web, gearwest.com. It's a holiday-weekend Finisher Friday. A great time to reflect and celebrate some inspirational accomplishments.

First, we congratulate Brian on a perfectly executed race plan, resulting in a win at the , a challenging course with a lot of climbing. Brian managed his nutrition and pacing in such a way that he had enough energy - and grit - to battle out the very last miles, fending off a fellow athlete to take the win. We are amazed, but not surprised!

Mary and Jeff raced the in South Haven, Michigan with big goals in mind. Both exceeded their expectations on day two, with Jeff taking 6th and Mary taking 4th in her age group. Huge congrats to you both and we know your year is just getting started!

Scott, Mike, Jan, Erik, Art, Rick, and many other friends of Gear West headed to the Northwoods for some fun miles on the technical Superior Hiking Trail at the . Everyone raced strong, and Scott had great success with the new Norda shoe model he chose for the day, winning his age group. Mike's weekend was extra special, as he celebrated his 30th birthday with a hard-fought and rewarding finish.

Finally, Zak, Sam, Grace, and many others enjoyed the competition close to home at the . Zak tenaciously raced for the win, and everyone enjoyed racing on a near perfect spring day.
