Minding Your Mind 🧘♂️
How often do you pause and really notice how your mind is feeling? Is it restless, dull, or peaceful? And have you ever stopped to consider why?
One of my teachers, A.G. Mohan, calls this “minding your mind.”
In yoga philosophy, we learn about the three gunas, qualities of nature that influence our minds:
● Rajas – Activity, passion, and restlessness.
● Tamas – Heaviness, dullness, and inactivity.
● Sattva – Clarity, harmony, and peace.
We need all three, but our goal is to cultivate a more sattvic mind.
Through mindful movement, breathing, meditation, and self-reflection, we can begin to recognize our patterns and restore balance.
A.G. Mohan reminds us that our yoga practice should create “lightness in the body and brightness in the mind.”
We cannot expect to feel peaceful all the time. Life doesn’t work that way. But by learning to mind our minds, we can become more aware of our thoughts, less reactive, and more intentional in how we live.
Awareness is where change begins. ❤️
