USAW LV 1 COMPLETE!
Another one in the books! 📚 I can’t say it enough the opportunity to coach, mold, and educate future coaches using Olympic Weightlifting is one of my favorite things I get to do.

This weekends class may have been small but it was mighty, attending the USA Weightlifting course we had coaches from all around and training in many different respective fields from sports performance, to youth training, to the world of high level personal training.

Each coach took time to address questions and inquire deeper about topics that came up. They had time to build on their skills while also learning the movements or perfecting them themselves.

I’m happy to say they all are ready to get out there and create some great training for others and want to thank all of you for trusting me with your course!

Had such a great time today getting to have the young athletes of the team 4 Star head down to for the Youth Training Camp the Michigan and Ohio weightlifting gyms continue to work together to cultivate.

It’s so important that we continue to make these events available and open for everyone so our sport can grow. Many of us and athletes we coached in the past didn’t have these things when they were younger and we know their time in the sport could have been so much more enjoyable having peers they could have trained with regularly!

This is one of those mistakes that feels invisible until someone points it out.

Watch her feet at the start of the pull. She gets into a good position and then before she goes she actually readjusts back to a “comfortable” and incorrect setup again. Knees and shins vertical, shoulders in front, bar close. Sometimes we can do everything right setting up and then adjust one little thing accidentally touching throw the lift off 😝

Tracy catches it immediately because this is the kind of detail that only a trained eye picks up in real time. This is exactly what coaching is for and what we have going on at 4 Star.

If your lifts feel inconsistent and you cannot figure out why, it is almost always something in your setup. Something small. Something coachable. “A good start usually constitutes a good finish”
