In just ONE WEEK, we’ll gather for something truly special… the First Annual John Sorenson FunFly honoring the man who started it all. ❤️✈️

Without John Sorenson, there would be no AMOS.
For more than 50 years, his passion, leadership, friendship, and love of flying helped build the club and community we all enjoy today.

As many of you know, John’s health has been declining, and this event is our opportunity to come together, celebrate him, thank him, and show our respect while we still can.

John flew everything over the years, and we’d love to fill the skies in his honor.

Cinco de Flyo + NorCal Swap Meet was a perfect day at the field! Beautiful summer weather, lots of swap meet tables, awesome flying, and incredible BBQ made for an unforgettable event. 😎🔥
The highlight of the day? The MAVRIX AirSoft Shutdown! 🎯✈️ Watching pilots dodge incoming “fire” had everyone laughing and cheering nonstop.
Huge thanks to everyone who came out to fly, shop, help, and hang out with the RC community. Days like this are what it’s all about! ❤️

Where the MAVRIX Thrive ✈️
At AMOS RC Airfield, it’s never just about flying airplanes… it’s about the friendships, the laughter, and the incredible community that forms around the runway.

Our MAVRIX crew has been busy doing what they do best —
✈️ Flying to their hearts’ content
🎯 Airsoft shoot-downs (always a crowd favorite!)
🔥 Sharing great food from the flight line café
😄 Laughing a lot and learning even more

From the youngest pilots taking the controls to mentors cheering them on, it’s amazing to see the next generation of aviators growing right here at the field.
And the best part? This is just the beginning.

So if you’ve been thinking about visiting the field… come on out! The weather is beautiful (and much warmer than these January 1st photos 😄) and the runway is waiting.

🚀 LAUNCHPAD #2: MAVRIX at CAL FIRE 🔥✈️
What’s the best way to spend a rainy day?
Inside a CAL FIRE hangar… surrounded by aircraft, simulators, rescue scenarios, and BIG dreams. 🙌
Our MAVRIX Youth Division had an unforgettable experience at LaunchPad #2, where the goal is simple but powerful:
✨ Expose kids to aviation.
✨ Open their eyes to career possibilities.
✨ Inspire the next generation of leaders.
The MAVRIX got hands-on in a sandbox rescue scenario, explored simulators, toured the massive repair and maintenance hangar, and stepped inside aircraft that serve and protect our communities. Seeing the scale of the warehouse operations and the teamwork behind every mission was eye-opening!
And let’s be honest… the parents may have had just as much fun as the kids. 😄
This is what LaunchPad is all about — real-world exposure, real conversations, and real inspiration. Aviation isn’t just about flying… it’s about mechanics, logistics, engineering, emergency response, leadership, and service.
Rain outside.
Fire in their hearts. 🔥
