Hanoverian Breeding Farm committed to raising exceptional quality horses for dressage, show jumping, and eventing, capable of competing to the highest levels in the sport. Our mission is to raise exceptional quality Hanoverian horses for Dressage and Jumping capable of competing to the highest levels in the sport. This helps to maintain a very high quality breed. We have 14 broodmares with top qua

lity pedigrees and talents. Our mares vary in size, temperament and talent. We have horses which are bred with specific qualities to excel in dressage, jumping and eventing. We do not stand a stallion on our farm. Instead, we study the pedigrees of the Hanoverian stallions available for breeding and select the best crosses with our quality mares. This gives us a wide variety of bloodlines to choose from and the ability to find the very best match for our mares. We represent an outstanding cross section of Hanoverian blood with each specialty represented in our breeding plan. For instance, we have some of the best dressage lines crossed with our best dressage mares. The same goes for jumping with foundation lines from both the mares and the stallions very forward in the pedigree. Our farm is 140 acres of rolling, oak studded foothills with streams and ponds in almost every pasture. The horses are raised galloping through large pastures and building muscles climbing the rolling hills. Our horses are also very familiar with water and most swim for fun in the summer. We raise our own hay and are able to regulate the quality of our feed to a very high degree. Our offspring are imprinted from birth and are very easy to handle, load, lead, etc. We usually start our horses under saddle at three years old and, if they are ready, we take them to local shows to get exposure to the environment of the show world. Our horses are also ridden on the trails around our farm.

Still going strong with our Blessed are the Broodmare series! Starting off this week is Jumpin Janet.

Janet is a thoroughbred mare (Momentum x Electric Fable) with big names in her pedigree such as Northern Dancer, 1975 Kentucky Derby winner Foolish Pleasure, and Mr. Prospector. Janet had a whopping 51 starts on the track over the course of 5 years, with four 1st place, eight 2nd place, and three 3rd place finishes. We were thoroughly impressed to learn her racing history as it proves her soundness, tenacity, and competitive spirit.

Following her racing career, Janet competed in three day eventing and dressage, where she showcased her incredible movement and bravery.

Heidi Wangler of Alpenglow Sporthorses owned Janet previously and got her approved for Hanoverian breeding, producing several lovely sport horse foals. When she gave us the opportunity to add Janet to our herd nearly five years ago, already in foal to Donarweiss, we couldn't say yes fast enough!

Janet has been a blessing to the farm, sweet to handle, and consistently produces some of our fanciest foals. Janet's 2023 and 2024 foals are still available, and whoever gets them will have the horse of a lifetime!

Finishing out this week's Broodmare series (more to come next week) with another heavy hitter in both pedigree and performance, is Zegna (Lintas/Rantares)!

Zegna is a Premium Holsteiner mare that competed through beginner novice eventing, 1.0 meter jumpers, free jumped 1.25 meters with ease, and schooled through training level dressage. Zegna was once ridden by the legendary Boyd Martin in a clinic, where he had glowing praise of the mare.

Zegna is another farm favorite; she is sweet, easy to handle, and never puts a foot wrong. Her 2024 c**t, Utah (by Utopie "Combina") was highly anticipated and exceed every hope! He has inherited his dam's easygoing nature, and the natural athleticism from both sides of his pedigree.

In today's Blessed are the Broodmares, is the larger than life, Cagrija!

Cagrija, known around the barn as Cate, is an imported Latvian warmblood. She had an impressive and versatile career, competing through 1.20 meter jumpers, 3rd level dressage, and then helping a junior rider earn their bronze metal.

You simply cannot help but to notice Cate, as she may be the largest horse on the farm! While she appears imposing, towering above you in height and possessing strong bone and substance, she is gentle and quiet. When the opportunity presented itself to add Cate to the herd in 2023, we wasted no time and brought her home within days of seeing her ad!

Cate's 2024 c**t, Unsung Hero (by Utopie "Combina"), surprised us when he was first born. We expected a giant to emerge, and Hero was actually a bit small! He has rapidly grown since then and we believe he will be a good medium size, having inherited some refining qualities from his sire.

To have a mare such as Cate with an impressive career is a rare gem. With performance histories and impeccable breeding on both sides, we are brimming with excitement to watch Hero grow up!

🎊Happy New Year🎊

We are continuing with our Broodmare series and featuring Tia Brielle!

Tia is a Selle Francais mare with experience through training level eventing and 1.0 meter jumpers. She was competed by a junior rider and has proven herself to be talented, kind, and forgiving. Tia consistently passes on her good mind and calm demeanor to her foals.

We tragically lost her 2023 filly to a freak pasture accident, on nearly the same day that we welcomed her 2024 filly. Life on a breeding farm is full of highs and lows, and we cried for one life while celebrating a new one.

Tia's 2024 filly, Dark Romance (by Donarweiss GGF), is what dreams are made of. She achieved premium status at her Oldenburg inspection, with her beautiful and kind mama Tia trotting beside her.

Second in Blessed are the Broodmares is Penache (Freestyle/Lynx).

Penache ("Poshi") is a premium Oldenburg mare who earned the second highest score on the West Coast during her 2020 inspection, attaining two stars. Poshi competed successfully through third level dressage and was in Steffen Peters barn!

Poshi is a bit of a diva and knows she's pretty! She is an intelligent mare with jaw-dropping movement that she consistently passes to her foals. We were very excited to add her to the breeding program a few years ago, and she has exceeded all expectations 🤩

Poshi has only one foal left available, her beautiful 2023 filly Unconscious Effort by Utopie "Combina".

First up in our Blessed are the Broodmares series is Paris C (Pablito/Ostwind).

You've likely heard us talk about Paris before, and how she's near and dear to us. Paris was bred and born on the farm! Her dam also lived out her days on the farm and produced many fine horses. Paris is obviously stunning, and we have many stories of taking her to shows and receiving offers on her the moment she stepped out of the trailer! She has been a keeper since the day she was born, just like her daughter Deedee ❤

Besides good looks Paris also has a sweet and calm demeanor, making her a favorite to handle around the farm. Paris competed through second level dressage, trained through 1.0 meter jumpers, and schooled up to novice cross country.

Brains and beauty, that's our girl Paris!

Some of our beautiful broodmares ❤ When these girls aren't making future generations of superstar sport horses, they live on nearly 100 acres complete with a large pond. Sometimes from across the farm you can hear thundering hooves, and it's always a breathtaking sight to see them charging across the rolling hills.

These mares are the backbone of our farm, and will be featured in their own special series soon!
