Hi everyone! My name is Aspen Swenson, and Iβm from Huntley, Montana. Iβm excited and honored to serve as your MHSRA President this year.
My goals are to make this a great year for every member, improve communication between the officers, directors, and contestants, and make sure everyone feels like they have a voice in our association.
We need to focus on making MHSRA more manageable and sustainable for our contestants and their families. Montana has more rodeos than almost any other state, which is a great opportunity, but it also requires a lot of time, travel, and money. I think we need to listen more to the contestants because we are the ones actually competing and experiencing what works and what doesnβt.
I want to create better communication between the officers, board, and contestants and make sure their voices are actually heard. My goal is for contestants to feel like MHSRA is working with them, not just making decisions for them.
I compete in breakaway roping, goat tying, poles, barrels, and team roping. Fun facts about me are that I have spent more time in the arena than anywhere else!
