โจ Letโs talk springs - because at btone, theyโre everything. โ๏ธ
Our springs arenโt just โresistance.โ They support your body, guide your movement, and give you feedback with every rep. Theyโre what train you to move intentionally, not forcefully. Read below for more detailed info! โฌ๏ธ
๐ Yellow springs = support + stability
Adding a 2nd (or even 3rd) yellow gives more support, helping you stay stable - especially helpful for low-back sensitivity or when you want extra control.
โ Less spring = lighter + more challenge
Lighter spring loads mean less support, more balance, deeper core work, and increased secondary muscle engagement.
โ๏ธ 3โ5 yellows = mid-weight
Here, more yellows = adds more weight. But remember - btone is about slow movement + time under tension. So sometimes lighter weight (closer to 3 than 5) is better to help you stay in the move longer and move with more control.
๐ฉถ๐ Gray & blue springs = heavy weight
Typically used for pushing movements and can be paired with yellows. Here, a smaller range of motion is okay - the goal is to keep the carriage off the platform and maintain constant tension as you slowly release.
๐ง Your guiding principle: pace.
At btone, our focus is time under tension. Choose a spring load that lets you move continuously and slowly to your instructorโs 4-count (or slower!).
If youโre rushing or taking breaks, try adjusting your springs and notice how much more effective it feels.
Trust the springs. Trust the tempo. ๐ค
