The Acrylic Paint Club will be meeting on Weds. Sept. 23rd, 5pm at Sycamore Acres paint studio. First time painter, Carol said, "I CANT, I'll show you but don't you laugh". Guess what she's coming back because she realized SHE CAN and enjoyed doing so!! Bring a friend, come try! Nothing to lose, our meets are FREE!! Everything is provided. If you do have your own supplies, you are most welcomed to bring them. Painting with friends is relaxing, fun, reduces stress and is rewarding, too!!! Come paint or learn with us! Pick your own pumpkins 🎃 Honor system explained 😊

This little patch on the side of Sycamore Acres has always been a dream of mine for pick your own pumpkins.

I wanted to produce something useful (not grass) while also giving “something to do” in a small town that no longer has an orchard.

I heard about Sandy’s idea for a community garden and donated 5 rows of my pumpkin patch to help …to help turn this this awesome idea into a reality.

There has been a bit of confusion and this post should clear it up. ❤️

There was cost in the pumpkin patch - (June and Reba helping me water in the beginning so I didn’t kill everything was free 🥰 and Duncan Robert Evans (Evans Excavating) donated his time and expertise for the second tilling!)

The community garden has been a truly AMAZING thing to watch. I’ve seen so many people pull up to just check out what’s in there and grab a few things for their salad ❤️ conversations, connections, and community ❤️
So here’s what we are going to do… pivot…we are going to donate any and all pumpkin proceeds back into the community garden and hopefully expand the whole thing next year. ❤️ Thinking more vegetables, flowers, and less pumpkins. There needs to be more good things and kindness in the world.

Donate what you think is fair, or what you are able for pumpkins and all proceeds will go back to this Community Garden of Lewistown IL project so we can make it even bigger and even better for next year 😊 100% of what is collected will go into the garden.

To give you an idea of prices ..
$1 for tiny, $5 for small, $10 large …or double that …or cut it in half… or times it by 10 do what you think will help us expand what Sandy started. 🎉

There are 2 ways to get pumpkins… and we should have different varieties ready throughout the month.
1. walk in the patch - there are still some big ones by North Illinois Street that are ready… and drop your donation in the yellow box on the tree.

2. Drive up to our stand in the front of the building and drop $ in the cash box …or there will be a Venmo code on the cash boxes.

Feels like fall 🎃🍁🍂🍂🍁🎃

Getting ready for the Morton Pumkin Festival around here…pouring like crazy so we have lots of paint kit options 🎨 did you know you can order the kits to go for your groups .. or for at home parties?!

Duncan Mills Scented Creations had an AMAZING paint your own freshies class last night- I think there were 30 ladies that made some really cool freshies…follow her to see when the next class might be🎉…or grab one of her freshies when you come in the Pop Shop ❤️

The new hip hop class with Assemblé started last night 🙌💃

Kitchen wall is up - electrical going in as well as FRP on the walls …only 7000 more things to do before I can open a kitchen …pray for plumbers to arrive like Santa 🙏🤞

And I ran around like a squirrel all day 🐿️ as usual, I think I talked more than I worked 😂
