Its RACE DAY at the Spoon!!
It looks like the temperatures are going to be perfect for tonights 36th running of the DIRTcar Modified Plow Boy Nationals featuring the MARS Modified Series running for $5000 to win their 40 lap feature event. We expect a strong field of DIRTcar Modifieds for this final event. This will also be Season Championship races in all classes which include the DIRTcar Super Late Models running 25 lap feature for $3000 to win, the DIRTcar Hornets, E-Mods and Crown Vics running 20 lap features for $700 to win and the DIRTcar Kid Modz running a 12 lap feature for a $500 split between all drivers.
Times and pricing are listed on the flyer.
Should be a great night of racing action.

This Sunday night Sept 6th will be the 36th running of the Modified Plow Boy Nationals and also Season Championship races at Spoon. The Plow Boy will once again feature the MARS Modified DirtCar Series running for $5000 to win their 40 lap feature event. A strong field of MARS DirtCar Modifieds is expected.
Thank you to Zane's Auto Service, PraireLand FS, Larry Korth, Napa, Midwest Recovery Service and Denney Farms for the added money to the purse.
Brandon Roberts leads the DirtCar Modified points at Spoon going into the last event with Josh Allen trailing by 22 points. Mike Brooks sits in third only 12 points behind Allen.
Also running will be the DirtCar Super Late Models for $3000 to win their 25 lap feature event. The E-Mods, Crown Vics and DirtCar Hornets will all be running for $700 to win in their 20 lap feature events. All E-Mod drivers that are signed in before 5 will have a chance at a Willy's 4412 two barrel or a 602 legal four barrel. We will put all drivers names in a hat and have one lucky winner drawn. DirtCar Kid Modz will round out the classes running for a $500 split between all drivers in the 12 lap feature event.

All campers are to park along fence outside of turn 4 to start. Spots are marked. After those are full we will park you by corn field in back of parking lot.

DirtCar Hornets and Crown Vics Season Championship this Sunday Night Sept 6th at the 36th Plow Boy Nationals. $700 to win in both the Dirtcar Hornet and Crown Vic 20 lap feature events.
Jeff Hall in the Crown Vic division has locked up that point championship in his rookie season but who will bring home the money and trophy this Sunday night.
In the DirtCar Hornet division, Mathew Mackey Jr holds a 26 point lead over Kenny Butterfield with Haylee Mackey in third 36 points behind Butterfield.

E-Mods will be running for $700 to win this Sunday night Sept 6th in their Season Championship race at the Plow Boy Nationals.
Jake Allen hold a 20 point lead over second place Trent Ross with Todd O'Neill 48 point behind Ross in third.

Spoon River Speedway August 29 Update

E-Mod SRS rules, interpretation, and final statement from Morey Denney, owner of SRS.

Saturday August 29th, three E-Mod class cars were found to have illegal chips or none at all during qualifying. Due to poor health, I was not at the track during this time period.

Officials called me and informed me what had happened and that they were going to start illegal cars on the rear of the feature. I agreed to that and said I would come to track.

During the 40 plus years I have owned the track, I have never cheated a person, nor have any Denney cars ran an illegal part.

Several years ago, a high up Late Model driver told me at the track "We may not like all your rules, but at least you don't change them."

The 192 car of Mosher came all the way from the back to win the race. We paid all cars for where they finished the feature and this will stand., right or wrong.

After talking with my people over the next two days, I make this final decision.

The rules clearly state that if you are caught cheating, you will lose all money for event, lose all points for year, and be suspended for one year from racing in said class. This rule includes driver, car number, and owner.

I have made the decision that all three car numbers, drivers and owners will not be able to race in the SRS E-Mod class for one year. Each driver has been mailed a letter. Following is car number and driver which also includes the owner.

192 Brody Mosher, C4 Raymond Morefield, and 59 Bryce Terry.

There will be no more statements on Facebook concerning above problems.

It will be Season Championship night this Sunday Night Sept 6th at the Plow Boy Nationals for the DirtCar Super Late Models. $3000 will go to the feature winner. Can Austin May make it 4 in a row?
Austin May has locked up the points championship in the DirtCar Super Late Model class but second place is still up for grabs. Andy Clark sits in second right now only 16 points ahead of third place Billy Knippenberg III.
We look for a nice field of DirtCar Supers for this show with the raised payout.
Feature purse for this 25 lap race,
3000, 1500, 1200, 1000, 500, 300, 275, 250, 225, 200, 175 to start
Payout will be that night at the track
