Because apparently running, riding and rucking around Melvern Lake, just wasn’t enough… 😂

Our amazing cohost, Melvern Lake Marina, is bringing even MORE fun to Lap the Lake this year with a MECHANICAL BULL from Let’s Get Rowdy! 🙌🐂

🇺🇸 OPEN TO EVERYONE — racers AND the public!

Come out, cheer on our racers, grab some food, hang around the Marina and see how long you can hold on.

SteveNancy Anderson with Wouldn’t That Be Nice Woodcuts has become a little like Old Faithful around here, every year, right on cue, he drops off something he’s made for Lap the Lake.

🇺🇸 THE MILES ARE COMING… ARE YOU READY?

October 10 will be here before we know it, and there’s more than one way to be part of Lap the Lake!

🚴 RIDE • RUN • WALK • RUCK
Pick your miles. Pick your challenge. Then show up ready to earn it. Whether it’s 3 miles or 50, the starting line is waiting for you.

🙌 VOLUNTEER
It takes a whole lot more than the people wearing bibs to make these miles happen, and we could definitely use a few more good humans willing to roll up their sleeves and help us pull this thing off!

You don’t have to give us your whole Saturday. Got a couple hours? We can find a place where you can make a difference.

📣 CHEER THEM ON
Live along one of our routes? Grab a lawn chair. Hang a flag. Make a sign. Ring a cowbell. Crank up some music. Gather the neighbors.

When somebody is digging deep through a tough mile, a little encouragement from the side of the road can mean more than you know.

📸 CAPTURE THE GRIT
Have a camera, or just a phone and a good eye? We’d love some extra help capturing the dusty bikes, tired legs, big smiles, beautiful Kansas scenery and those hard-earned finish-line moments.

❤️ OR JUST SHOW UP!
Come hang out at Melvern Lake Marina, grab something to eat, make some noise and help us welcome a whole bunch of adventurous people to our little corner of Kansas.

For one day, these roads will carry a few more bikes, a few more runners, a little more traffic, and a WHOLE lot of people out doing something pretty darn awesome.

So if the miles come through your neck of the woods, give ’em a wave. Give ’em a cheer. Or better yet… come make some miles with us. 🇺🇸

Because Lap the Lake is about more than crossing a finish line.

It’s about showing up. Digging in. Helping your neighbor. Doing hard things. And having a whole lot of fun while we’re at it.

Sounds pretty American to us. 🇺🇸
