Picture your fat cells at 5:59 PM, counting down the seconds. A leader among them emerges, shouting: “Hold, men! Hold! Wait for it!...”

The clock strikes 6:00 “Now!! Gather all carbs from the bloodstream! Anything that passes from now until morning we will capture and store!! While you’re at it, grab anything that yields Calories - amino acids, fatty acids, we want it all!”

That might sound ridiculous. Because it is.

Here’s the truth:

When it comes to fat loss/gain, always remember: It’s not about the time or the type, it will always come down to the 24 hour total.

Your body doesn’t check the clock before deciding whether to store fat.
What matters is your total intake vs. your total expenditure — not the time you eat a banana.

Most folks looking to lose weight don’t need stricter rules…
they need simpler, more sustainable ones.

Eat carbs when they fit in your day. Pair them with a good serving of protein (20-30g) and you’ll feel more satiated by them.

Build muscle so your metabolism works for you.
And stop letting outdated diet rules make eating more stressful than it needs to be.

That’s what we call efficient work. 💪

For a 175 lb person walking 3.0 mph for 30 minutes:
🏔 0% Incline → 138 Cals
⬆️ 5% Incline → 224 Cals
🔥 10% Incline → 310 Cals

So next time you hit the treadmill, crank that incline up and watch your calorie burn skyrocket — without your joints hating you for it.

🚶‍♂️ Walk it off — a 20-minute stroll after dinner keeps your blood sugar and digestion happy.

You don’t have to “start over” on Monday — just plan, enjoy, and move.

Scared that Halloween treats will derail your Progress?

It’s always important to remember not to label foods as “good” or “bad”.

There is simply too much or too little based on outcomes you are looking to produce.

5 trainer tips to enjoy Halloween goodies (without overdoing it):

Try a more satiating Treat:

Eat sliced apples drizzled with a small amount of caramel instead of caramel apples. Or make an apple dip with PB for powder in Greek yogurt.

Swap for a less Calorie Dense option:

Suckers are a good swap for fun size candy bars-the caramel apple pops have 70 calories-tootsie roll pops have 60 calories-they are yummy and take a long time to eat unlike regular fun size treats!

Lead yourself not into temptation:

Don’t buy candy to leave just sitting around house for a long time. Just takes away the temptation 😂

Fuel up BEFORE the fun.

Have a balanced meal or snack with protein before the Halloween festivities. When you’re not starving, it’s way easier to enjoy a few treats without going overboard on candy later.

Keep the faves, toss the rest.
If you have kids, let them choose their favorite candies from trick or treating and get rid of the rest, so it’s not a temptation for the next weeks!

5.1 Bonus tip:

Put the candy in a bowl outside. Teenagers will come take it all. It will be gone by morning.

🔥 DUMBBELL STEP-UPS! 🍑

Most people turn step-ups into a leg bounce house—using momentum instead of muscle. 🏃‍♂️💨
But if you slow it down and do these right, your glutes will light up like a Christmas tree 🎄 (and your ego might deflate just a bit 😅).

👉 Lean forward slightly as you stand
👉 Focus on hip extension, not just the knee
👉 Keep your weight in the front leg
👉 Tap and go — don’t rebound off the floor
👉 If you need to reset, drop the weight a bit and keep tension

This isn’t about looking cool… it’s about building strong, functional glutes that actually do their job. 💪

You’ll know you nailed it when it feels brutally hard — and your glutes thank you (or curse you) tomorrow 😈.
