This is an official Katie and Lynette appreciation post! They are the lovely women on the left of this photo who helped me (Christina, on the right) in too many ways to count when it came to this weekend’s Lapeer Hollow Harvest . We connected before last year’s event through a chance conversation I had with someone I had only met one time and it went something like this:
Me: I’m thinking of putting together a Gilmore Girls-inspired fandom event in Lapeer.
Other person I had just met: Oh really? How fun! You know who would love to help? My friend Lynette, she loves the show!
I met Lynette, and she connected me to her sister Katie, the three of us with our powers combined got to planning, and I just could not have done this without them!
Lynette was our Gilmore encyclopedia and if any business wondered what they could do to participate, she had multiple answers at the ready. From having a million great ideas, to securing sponsorships, to delivering signs to businesses, to being the positive hype person when things got stressful, she was so important to this effort, and did everything this last week in a air boot with a fractured foot like it was no big deal!
And we would not have had the graphics/logo/social media content we had without Katie’s amazing graphic design skills. We don’t even have to finish our sentence and she already has a graphic planned out in her mind for any idea we had. She also figured out website questions that have stumped me for years in a matter of minutes, and kept our pre-orders organized and inventoried and on spreadsheets like the expert Math teacher she is!
If you enjoyed this event this year or last year, just know that I didn’t do it alone, and that it was the result of time, effort, and at least one million texts, at all hours of the night and day, between all three of us. 💙💙💙
