Race Recap Saturday August 29, 2026

Scorching hot afternoon out at Barona Speedway, but Aldridge Racing turned up the heat! 🏁🔥

We kicked off the day with a pit side interview for the IMCA Northern SportMod division—stay tuned, because that interview post is coming your way soon! 🎤👇

Here is how the racing action shook out:

* Heat Race 1: Started 4th. By about lap three, we made the move past the #36 of Malone to take over 3rd, holding it right to the checkered flag! 🏁🥉

* Main Event: Started 5th. Got caught up in heavy traffic early and dropped back to around 7th before a caution flag flew. On the restart, we put our heads down, sliced back up to 4th, and were hunting for more when the second caution came out.

* The Battle for the Podium: That set up a wild, back-and-forth war with the #7 car while chasing down the #73 in 3rd. Coming out of turn two, the #73 started to spin—both the #7 and I managed to clear him safely, and we drove it home to lock in a hard-fought 3rd-place podium finish! 🏆

To keep everyone safe, the track has pushed racing back by one hour so we can battle under the lights.

Aldridge Racing weekend recap
8/1 Barona Speedway!

Heat Race started 6th finished 3rd. Made a adjustment and ready to rock n roll for the main. Original lineup had 4J starting 9th. Rolled onto track. Before we even got a green flag, A car in front lost a spring, sent to hot pits which put that car to the back and should have been moved up to 8th for the green flag. Instead the right row moved up putting line up out of order. Had our work cut out for the 4J . Trying to gain positions. Did make it up to 4th or so at one point. There was 3 or 4 of us battling it out for 3rd, 4th, 5th position. All good fun clean racing. 4J took checkered flag 🏁 finishing 6th.

Highlights of the night: Had a fast car. Ran the fastest lap of the night in our division. 🏎️💨

🗓️ IMCA Northern Sport Mods will be back at Barona Speedway Saturday Aug 29.
