It was an open trailer kind of day! We were back at barona speedway yesterday for another round of the series. This date originally wasn't on the calendar so before I went on vacation, I took my car apart to make some improvements. After vacation I was at the station for 4 days so that led to a pretty late night Friday trying to get ready. I still had my spare axle in the car and it was very darty, car wanted to turn hard left and then go into the wall. Managed a decent result in the heat but decided to change my front axle back to my main one since it got dropped off to me at the track. Car felt a LOT better but since I didn't hot lap or do the heat with that axle which is just so different, I was a little off on the setup. That's OK though! Finished in the middle of the pack and loaded the car up in one piece. All and all a good day.

Well, not the best update. Raced last night at our home track at Barona. Track was pretty slick and in the heat was having a great battle for second spending several laps side by side with a quick car before losing the rear end. A car a few lengths behind me couldn't avoid me and hit my front end, bending my front axle and tie rod locking up my steering. Colossal effort by everyone in my pit to get it swapped out for the main but something wasn't right about it as the car just wanted to pull to the left and any effort to straighten out the wheel wanted to put me in the wall. A caution came out that was unrelated to me and I decided it would be best to park the car before I did some damage. Now for an early summer break and reset, we'll come back better.

Not a bad night racing next to the USAC 410 sprint cars at Perris Auto Speedway. After practice I found out I had a broken motor mount (again) and said "whatever send it" and loaded up again for the race. Wow is that half mile track fast! After chasing an electrical gremlin in hotlaps, put in a decent result in both the heat and main putting in a solid 5th for the night. Learning more again this season, Barona up next! Thanks for all the help
