DID YOU KNOW?! Troup County School System Greenpower teams have logged over 5,000 miles during race heats so far this season. With only the National Championship remaining, the graphic below shows our teams in each division with the highest mileage totals so far.
Our middle schools all have 3 cars each & LCMS leads with a combined program mileage of 1,154.86 miles. GNMS is right behind them at 1,097.49 miles, followed by CMS with 725.43 miles.
For our high schools, THS has 3 cars and CHS & LHS both have 2 cars. Callaway High's total program mileage is 854.35 miles, with THS right behind them at 729.84 miles, followed by LHS with 462.23 miles.
SO WHAT'S THE IMPACT?
***A Massive Scale of Hands-On STEM: Logging over 5,023 miles in student-built electric vehicles is an incredible feat. This isn't just about driving; it represents thousands of hours of teamwork, troubleshooting, battery management, and engineering trial-and-error. It shows a highly active, district-wide commitment to project-based learning.
***Program Dynasties: Long Cane Middle School and Callaway High School are clearly powerhouse programs. Sweeping the top spots in both the Stock and Modified divisions for their respective age groups shows they have built highly sustainable, competitive teams with great mentorship and institutional knowledge.
***Battle-Tested for Talladega: The most important impact for the immediate future is reliability. Going into the F24 National Championship, these teams aren't guessing if their cars will hold together. They have thoroughly road-tested vehicles and highly experienced drivers, giving them a massive competitive edge for the final race.
Congratulations to all our teams on their hard work this season. This is shaping up to be our most successful Greenpower season yet. Thank you to our system sponsors that have helped to make it possible: Kia Georgia, Diverse Power, Hyundai-Mobis, & Interface.๐ Troup County CTAE
