Our chapter continues to promote aviation in the Lago Vista and Lake Travis community through Young Eagles flights, monthly pancake breakfasts, scholarships, and support for Rusty Allen Airport. It’s great to see local aviation getting some well-deserved attention.

Based at Rusty Allen Airport in Lago Vista, EAA Chapter 1607 is a nonprofit aviation organization dedicated to promoting general aviation, aviation education, and community involvement.

Through programs like Young Eagles flights, scholarships, pancake breakfasts, and local aviation events, they are helping inspire the next generation of pilots, mechanics, and aviation enthusiasts.

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for joining us at Rusty Allen Airport on April 25th for our EAA Young Eagles event. It was a fantastic day, and we were thrilled to be able to introduce so many young people to the joy of flight.

We truly appreciate your patience as we waited for the weather to clear. Safety is always our top priority, and we’re grateful for your understanding while we worked to ensure the best possible flying conditions for your children.

Events like this are made possible entirely by volunteers and the generous support of our community. While the Young Eagles flights are always free, donations help us continue our mission. All contributions go directly toward aviation scholarships for young people pursuing careers in aviation—whether as Commercial Pilots or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanics.

For this event, the average donation per attendee was approximately $5.00. Every dollar makes a difference and helps us inspire and support the next generation of aviation professionals.
