SPRINGHILL PLANTATION
It was 2009, and the series was in its very first year of racing. Springhill Plantation has so many stories that are still being told and written today.
As the series’ longest-standing venue, it has seen a lot over the years — from mud runs to dust races so thick you could taste dirt for days. From the first championship run to champions in the making, these woods in Wilson have seen it all. Springhill Plantation has hosted multigenerational racing families over the years, several of whom still race with us today.
LACC races at Springhill Plantation have featured some of the best talent in the sport. From multi-time World Motocross Champion and AMA Hall of Famer Trampas Parker (LACC Champion 2010), to World Champion pro truck drivers father-and-son Marty and Kyle Hart, who raced UTVs with us, and Dustin Jones, who has won the Polaris RZR UTV World Championship along with other UTV championships — they’ve all raced here at Springhill Plantation.
Riders who are multi-time LACC Champions include Forrest Smith, Daltyn Kennedy, Grady Peevy, Chris Brian (ATV), and James Murrah (ATV). Springhill Plantation has hosted them all.
The courses through these woods have changed over time, but the venue remains the same. It has hosted some of the largest dirt bike, ATV, UTV, and crowd turnouts the series has ever seen. From tough obstacles such as the wall climb and wall jump to the slick trail we used to run by the creek, Springhill Plantation has offered everything XC racing could ask for. Through timber thinnings and storms, this place still produces some of the best racing imaginable. Memories made here will last a lifetime, as Springhill Plantation is truly legendary.
A sincere thank you to Mr. Kirwin Ross for allowing us to race here year after year — for the memories, the championship runs, and most of all, for the fun.
IT’S RACE WEEK AT SPRINGHILL PLANTATION!!!
