Nationals didn’t end the way we hoped, but man, do we have a lot to be proud of.

Preston was fast. He spent most of the feature running P3, right where he belonged, and with just 3 laps to go, he got caught up in a racing incident that unfortunately ended his run.

Do we feel like some calls and situations at the track could have been handled better? Absolutely. But you win some and you lose some — that’s racing. Sometimes you’re on the good side of it, and sometimes you aren’t.

What we won’t let get lost in how the night ended is the hell of a run this kid had. In his first year in the Open 500, he lined up P2 at Nationals and spent nearly the entire race running up front with some incredibly talented drivers. He proved he belonged there.

Most importantly, Preston can walk away from this weekend with his head held high — which, unfortunately, is more than we can say for some of the adults involved.

As his parents, we couldn’t be more proud of how he drove, how he handled himself, and how far he has come this season. One racing incident doesn’t take away from any of that.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who came up to us after the race, reached out, or had kind words for Preston. In a moment when emotions were definitely running high, the amount of support we received meant more than you probably realize. It was pretty incredible to hear so many people recognize the run he had and remind us just how much he has to be proud of.

And, as always, huge thank you to our sponsors who continue to stand behind Preston and his racing. Whether you’ve supported him this season or have been with us throughout his racing career, you are a huge part of what allows him to do what he loves. We truly couldn’t do this without you.

This one may sting for a little while, but what a weekend and what a run. ❤️

English Creek Nationals — Night 1 🏁

What a night for Preston!

He qualified 5th out of 45 karts, putting him on the pole of his heat race, where he went out and got the WIN!

That was enough to put him P4 in the Dash, and he drove his way up to a P2 finish, which means he’ll be rolling off P2 in the big show tonight!

This has already been such a big year for Preston as he’s made the jump into his first year in the Open 500 class, and we are incredibly proud of how far he’s come. There’s been tough nights and plenty of figuring things out along the way. But he’s worked hard, learned a ton, and continues to get better every time he gets behind the wheel. We can’t wait to see what he can do tonight!

After our nasty accident about a month ago and working hard to get the micro back together, we finally made our way to Sweet Springs last night.

Unfortunately, it didn’t go the way we had hoped. The car just wasn’t where it needed to be. We made some adjustments throughout the night, started P15 in the feature, and drove our way up to finish P8.

While it wasn’t the result we were chasing, we’ll take the positives and keep building. We didn’t have any track time to shake the car down before racing, so we’re still learning and dialing everything back in.

After getting home at 2:30 this morning, the cars are already cleaned up, and we’ll be back in the shop going through everything to find the speed we’re looking for.

We also can’t thank our sponsors enough for making this possible and helping me chase my dream of reaching the bigger stage. Your support allows us to keep turning laps, keep learning, and keep working toward events like the Tulsa Shootout and other big races moving forward.

A huge thank you also goes out to the Weaver family for letting us use their trailer while we were searching for our new truck and trailer. That help meant a lot to us.

And a very special thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Ross and Terri Koop for letting us use your truck. It has been a lifesaver and has gotten us to and from the track. We truly appreciate it more than words can say.

🏁 Race Recap – English Creek Speedway 🏁

Overall, it was a great night at English Creek Speedway!

I qualified 9th, then put together a strong run in my heat race, driving from P3 to a P2 finish. We rolled off 6th in the feature and battled our way to an awesome 2nd-place finish! 🥈

Every time I get behind the wheel, I gain more confidence and experience. I continue to learn and improve each time I’m on the track, and I’m excited to see what the rest of the season has in store.

A huge THANK YOU to all of my sponsors, family, friends, and everyone who supports my racing program. I truly couldn’t do this without you!

Now it’s time to turn our attention to Sweet Springs Motorsports Complex today. I’m looking forward to getting the 10J Micro back on the track and seeing what we can accomplish.
