We want to take a moment to address a recent change within TEAM DGRD.

Due to some personal matters involving the team owner, there was a necessary shift in our race schedule. As a result, we would not be able to complete the originally planned 100 nights of racing. An updated plan and revised schedule were already in the works, and this information was clearly communicated to Kaleb.

At this time, the team is fully prepared from an equipment standpoint — we have multiple race cars ready, lettered and mule lettered, along with a freshly wrapped trailer promoting Kaleb’s long time partners.

Despite this, Kaleb made the decision to step away from the team.

We are disappointed by this outcome, as we felt this was a temporary hiccup in what had been a very strong start together. We wish him the best moving forward.

TEAM DGRD is continuing ahead and is currently open to discussions with drivers who may be looking for a seat. If you’re interested, please reach out.

Race Results | Mario Clouser Racing Prelim Night at Chili Bowl

Heat Race #7: 4th -> 3rd
Qualifier #3: 7th -> 4th
A-Main: 12th -> 13th

We kicked off the night by finishing +1 in the heat race. That result advanced us to the qualifier, where we narrowly missed the invert by just half a point. We got a strong start in the qualifier and stayed patient and focused, methodically picking off cars. We were closing in on fourth and fifth when an incident occurred ahead of us, and we were ultimately scored fourth.
That finish earned us enough points to transfer into the A-Main, where we lined up 12th. The start of the A-Main was chaotic with several cars ahead of us racing aggressively, which caused us to lose a couple of positions. However, on a restart we got a great run, capitalized on the opportunity, and worked our way back forward to finish 13th.
Overall, it was a very successful night for the Speedquip Motorsports team. Mario did a fantastic job behind the wheel all night, and we’ll get the car ready to go for the C-Main tomorrow.

Race Results | Wednesday Prelim Night at Chili Bowl

Kaleb Johnson Racing
Heat Race #2: 7th -> 5th
Qualifier #4: 9th -> 9th
B-Main #2: 10th -> 10th

Will Armitage
Heat Race #4: 6th -> 4th
Qualifier #4: 7th -> 10th
B-Main: 11th -> 16th (DNS)

It was a solid night for our team overall. Kaleb kicked things off starting seventh in the second heat race. He ran a patient, smart race and was able to pick off two positions, which advanced him to the qualifier. In the qualifier, he didn’t get the start we were hoping for and lost a few spots, placing him in the B-Main. From there, Kaleb got a strong start and moved around the racetrack well, showing good speed and composure—an impressive performance for his first time in the car.

Will began the night in the fourth heat race and made a strong charge from sixth to fourth, earning a spot in the qualifier. He got a good start in the qualifier but slipped over the cushion, which dropped him back to tenth. Unfortunately, a mechanical issue prevented him from starting the B-Main.

We couldn’t be more proud of both Kaleb and Will. Both drivers made the qualifier and earned spots in the B-Main, which is a great accomplishment. We’ll diagnose the issue with Will’s car and have it ready to go for Saturday.

Race Results | Ethan Mitchell’s Tuesday Prelim Night at Chili Bowl

Heat Race #1: 8th -> 8th
D-Main #2: 2nd -> 2nd
C-Main #2: 11th -> 1st
B-Main #2: 13th -> 14th (DNF)

We began the night starting 8th in the heat race. We got a strong start and was up to 5th position before the car in front of us got sideways and came down the track, leaving us with nowhere to go. That incident put us in the D-Main. We started 2nd in the D-Main, took the lead early, and paced the race well. With two laps to go, we lost the lead but still transferred to the C-Main. In the C-Main, we methodically worked our way through the field, took the lead on lap 8, and went on to win by 2.5 seconds. Unfortunately, in the B-Main we were collected in an early incident. After restarting at the back, we were working our way forward when another car slid up from deep in the field and took us out. It was a tough way to end the night, but Ethan did an excellent job throughout the event. We’ll get everything repaired and be ready to go again Saturday for some soup!
