The Kill Devil Derby Brigade exists to provide the opportunity to build positive relationships within our community through the sport of roller derby. We are operated by the skaters, for the skaters; our members are from all walks of life and strive to demonstrate that women can be strong and independent while maintaining careers and personal lives. Our mission is to activ

ely provide and sustain an environment in which courage, respect, strength, and sportsmanship are fostered through the sport of roller derby. Our league strives to empower women by challenging them both on and off the track; to establish and maintain roots within the Outer Banks Community; and to create a physically demanding sport that inspires us to embrace our inner strength while entertaining our fans.

Our derby family took a hard hit this week with the passing of our longtime friend, bench coach, and biggest supporter, Amy Goodman aka AceHole.

Ace was the kind of person every league hopes for — loud when we needed motivation, steady when things got chaotic, and always ready with support, sarcasm, honesty, and love. She spent years helping hold this league together from the sidelines, cheering us on or calming us down and probably questioning at least a few of our decisions every season.

She was part coach, part chaos coordinator, and 100% derby family.

Thank you, Amy Goodman, for every pep talk, every laugh, every road trip, every reality check, and every moment you gave this league. We will carry your spirit with us every time we hit the track.

Rest easy, Ace. We’ve got the bench from here. 🛼🖤🖤🛼
