Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne is inviting all to welcome home Putnam County's beloved Sybil Ludington statue following its first comprehensive restoration in decades. The project returns the monument to its original bronze appearance and to mark the occasion, the statue will be es**rted by first responders to its longtime home in Carmel.

Onlookers are encouraged to gather at various points along Route 52 including Kent Elementary School, Shoprite plaza, the Historic Courthouse or at Lake Gleneida. The es**rt route will not be closed both ways, however, Gleneida Ave in front of the pedestal is expected to be closed for a short period of time while the statue is lifted from the truck.

Friday is expected to be another hot day so please come prepared with sunscreen, shade, bottled water.
