What a week to be a woman in the equestrian world. 🐴✨🌹🌹🌹

Yesterday, history was made at the Kentucky Derby with the first female trainer to win. The May issue of Sidelines Magazine — the Women in Business issue — is out, and I’m even more excited to be part of it!

This community has always known what the rest of the world is just starting to figure out. Women belong everywhere in this sport: in the irons, in the barn, in the boardroom, and at the winner’s circle🌹

If the Sidelines feature sparked any questions about the financial side of your equestrian life or business, Jennifer Lynn Wood and Connor of Equestrian Businesswomen gave me the space to answer them last year on Equestrian B2B — Episode 91: Why You Should Speak to a Holistic Financial Strategist.

It’s a conversation I’m really proud of and one I think a lot of you will find valuable. 🎧

Old Salem Farm has a way of staying with you. 🐴
It’s where some of the most important chapters of my career were written… where I learned from people who pushed me to be better, and where I fell even more in love with this sport. Getting to come back to Spring Shows feels like something I didn’t know I needed until today, let’s connect!
I’m so honored to be featured in the May issue of , and so grateful to the two people who made this shoot feel like home.
Thank you for telling this story with so much heart. You asked the right questions and gave it the space it deserved.
Thank you for seeing something in these moments that I’ll carry with me for a long time. Your work is truly something special.
And to thank you for championing the people behind this sport, not just the results in the ring.
📖 May issue — link in bio.
I’m booking clinics this spring and summer. All levels welcome. Wherever you are in your riding right now is exactly the right place to start. 📩 DM me to get on the schedule.

Huge thank you to Jennifer Connor, Jennifer Lynn Wood, and Piper Klemm for hosting such a thoughtful, intentional, and beautifully executed Equestrian Businesswomen event and The Plaid Horse Podcast gathering at Winter Equestrian Festival • Wellington International. Watching dear friends of mine pour so much care, creativity, and behind the scenes work into creating a space like this for women in business was truly special.

The panels were exceptional. The setting was beautiful. The level of intention behind every detail was so clear. What made it all truly stand out was how seamlessly everything came together to create such a powerful environment. A room full of women building brands, businesses, and careers rooted in passion, grit, and community. The conversations were genuine, the connections felt easy, and the energy was supportive, generous, and inspiring.

Jenn Connor and Jennifer Wood curated an incredible Equestrian Businesswomen panel. Every panelist brought something meaningful to the discussion, sharing real, hard-earned insights about building and sustaining businesses in the equestrian world. I especially loved hearing Lindsay Lenard from Horse Spot talk about knowing your KPIs, understanding your data, and how that clarity supports smart scaling and future investor conversations. Kelly Giordano’s insights around hiring thoughtfully, setting expectations, and using performance reviews to support growth and accountability were equally impactful. It was practical, honest, and incredibly valuable.

Those conversations reinforced something I believe deeply. The most successful businesses are built when strategy is considered from the very beginning, not just around operations and growth, but around the long term as well. When retirement planning, business structure, and personal financial strategy are integrated early, everything else becomes more intentional. Employee retention, benefits, and tax efficiency naturally follow when the foundation is designed thoughtfully rather than added later as a patch.

Separately, Piper Klemm hosted a wonderful Plaid Horse podcast conversation spotlighting equestrian-focused leadership and innovation. I loved hearing from Monica L Halem, M.D., a board-certified dermatologist and passionate equestrian, about how she built science-based skincare designed specifically for riders. The conversation with Lenore Rees Brown, Director of Sponsorships at Equestrian Sport Productions for the Winter Equestrian Festival, was equally fascinating. Her career path and perspective on partnerships and sponsorship within the sport gave me so much to think about, and I truly hope to continue that conversation.

I am also incredibly honored to have been included on the Equestrian B2B Podcast this year and recognized in their 2025 guest recap for conversations that stood out. Being trusted with discussions around money, business, and long-term planning, especially in a community I care so deeply about, means more than I can say.

I love working with women who put everything into building something of their own. My approach is always about stepping back, looking at the whole picture, and designing strategies that support both the business you’re building and the life you want it to sustain. My work is always confidential and always complimentary, and I would truly love to connect for a virtual coffee or meet in person outside of the event.

Grateful for this community. Grateful for these friendships. And so excited for what’s ahead. 🌿💛

I found out this afternoon that I’ve been selected as one of NAIFA’s Four Under 40 for 2025 — even though I’m 42.

I told them that right away, fully expecting it to disqualify me. But after a transparent conversation, they told me:
“You represent exactly what this award is about — leadership, purpose, and real impact.”

That meant more than I can say.

My path here wasn’t conventional. After years of running an elite-level equestrian business, everything changed the day I hugged my son after teaching a clinic — and he stopped breathing. He was severely allergic to horses. That moment forced me to step away from a career I loved and start again with a deeper purpose.

That moment became my why.

Today, I work with families, entrepreneurs, and equestrians navigating major life transitions — aging parents, college decisions, business exits, new beginnings — and help them align their financial decisions with their values, goals, and long-term vision.

Sometimes it’s about legacy.
Sometimes it’s about keeping more of what they’ve built — instead of handing it to taxes.

This afternoon’s news is a beautiful reminder:
You don’t have to follow a straight line.
You don’t have to fit the mold.
You just have to lead with meaning — and be brave enough to begin.

Thank you NAIFA for seeing the story behind the stats. I’m honored and grateful to be part of this year’s Four Under 40.

Double life? Try triple whammy. 💼🐾🦄

For those who missed it, I just got back from an incredible trip to Dallas for Career Conference 2025, where I was honored to be recognized among the top professionals in my field — and left more inspired than ever to help families protect their futures and build lasting legacies.

No sooner did I land than I was back to middle-of-the-night puppy care (Kensi delivered 9 beautiful Bernedoodles!) and early-morning Zooms with clients working through everything from estate planning to retirement strategy.

And this Friday? I’m off again — this time to Massachusetts to teach a showjumping clinic. Back to the arena, where another part of my heart lives.

Truth is, none of these paths are traditional — but together, they’re mine.
✨ Financial planner by day
✨ Bernedoodle breeder by night
✨ Equestrian educator by weekend

I’m not here to choose one — I’m here to show that women can live fully in all their callings. And if I can help you protect your future, find your footing, or chase your own triple-whammy dream, I’m just a message away.

Here’s to the beautiful chaos — and building a life that holds all of it. 💛
