Update on Cyclospora Outbreak Linked to Recalled Iceberg Lettuce

Federal and state health agencies continue to investigate a five-state Cyclospora outbreak linked to recalled iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms de Mexico.

Although one laboratory finding was later determined to be a false positive, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continues to identify the recalled lettuce as the likely source of the outbreak.

You should immediately remove and dispose of affected items. We recommend not accepting or distributing other Taylor Farms lettuce and salad mixes from Mexico and continuing to monitor USDA food recall updates.

Monthly Harvesters Mobile Food Distribution

Our 4th Thursday Harvesters Food Distribution will be held as follows:

PLEASE NOTE: Harvesters now has a new check-in system. IF you have not already done so, our agency will need to have paper Intake Forms completed to allow us to enter your information onto an online portal.

Once the information has been entered online, you will be able to visit any Harvesters site going forward and should be able to have your information pulled up online to ease the check-in process. This new system will apply for every household you are picking food items up for.

UPCOMING HOLIDAY CLOSINGS NOTICE:

The Calvary Community Wellness Center will be closed on the following dates in observance of the upcoming holidays:

^Juneteenth Holiday - Closed Friday, June 19. We will reopen from 8am-Noon on Saturday, June 20.

*4th of July Holiday - Closed Friday, July 3 & Saturday, July 4. We will reopen for regular business hours on Monday, July 6.

NOTE: There will be NO Mobile Food Pantry Distributions on
June 19 or July 3.

WEEKLY PANTRY HOURS

Please be reminded that we will hold our Mobile Food Pantry Distribution on the following days/times:

*Every 1st, 2nd & 3rd Friday of the Month from 2:30-4:00pm

*There is NO Pantry Distribution on the 4th Thursday's due to our Harvesters Mobile Distribution held the day before.

During June & July, the weekly Mobile Food Pantry Distribution is held at the Calvary Community Wellness Center located at 3002 Holmes, KCMO.

Look for the orange cones in front of the building.

*No ID or income verification is required.
*No appointments are needed.

NOTE: There are five (5) Friday's in May. Therefore, we will have our Pantry Distribution on May 22 but will not have it on May 29.

For the safety of our Patrons and Staff, the Calvary Community Wellness Center will close at 4pm today, April 17, due to severe weather conditions.

We plan to be open tomorrow (Saturday), April 18 for normal business hours from 8am-Noon.
