The GCC Samsons Basketball program hosted a local round robin tournament yesterday with participating teams from Ironwood, Hurley, Bessemer, and Wakefield. Each team played 3 games and we had some fun games! It was just fun to get some basketball going in the gym! 💚🖤🤍

Are you getting excited for the 🏐volleyball 🏐season?!?! The Samsons definitely are! To help get our high school players ready, coach Erika is hosting a volleyball skills camp for grades 9-12 on Sunday, August 9th. The cost is $50 per player.

Thank you to all who attended the Samsons Basketball camp this summer! It was a great turnout, totaling over 90 campers, with athletes who traveled over 7 hours to be here for camp!!

We had a great deal of help and want to give shoutouts to Ward Helakoski, Paul Zysk, Rukus Betlewski, Gordy Kohegyi, Tara Tregembo, McKenzie Sharrow, women's basketball players, and men's basketball players. Monica Ramme helped with administration duties, Chris Bentley and maintenance are rockstars of setup, and Kari Klemme for all of our social media and online registration process! Thank you for everything!!

Thank you to TV6 & FOX UP for highlighting Coach Mackey as this week's UP Power! Spotlight! Our campus will look a bit different without him.

Mackey retired on May 31 after an illustrious 38-year career at Gogebic Community College.
