Spring is a beautiful time of the year in the White Mountains, but there can be a few bugs (or maybe more than a few?!). Don't sweat it though, they're pretty easy to manage with the right clothing and bug spray. And to make it easier for you, we're offering 10% off online bookings valued $500 or more in our rock climbing and hiking categories. Chloë wanted to gain more experience on the steeps. Schedule and conditions finally aligned for a line from the top of Tucks. Nothing like a midweek trip to avoid the crowds!

About a week ago, guide Ryan Driscoll took a couple guests on an overnight backcountry ice climbing trip to Mount Garfield. Judging by the photos, it looks like they had a great time! If you'd like to get off the beaten path (whether ice climbing, mountaineering, or backcountry skiing), get in touch and we'll make a plan.

We're going to see warm temperatures and unfrozen precipitation in the White Mountains tomorrow (Friday), but there's also good news! The weather is going to snap back to cold and snowy on Friday night through the foreseeable future. So, despite the warmup, things are looking good for ice/snow conditions and our healthy snowpack will survive.

If you're looking to start your avalanche education this year, check out our AIARE 1 courses. Most of our December & January dates are sold out, but we spots available in our 12/31-01/01 course and one spot left in January 2-4. There's plenty of space available in our February & March courses, but don't wait too long. More info and booking online: newhampshireclimbing.com/shop/aiare-1/

It wasn't perfect flag flying weather on Mount Washington yesterday, but Katya was pretty psyched to reach the summit. We started up the Tuckerman Ravine Trail (TRT) from Pinkham Notch, then onto the Lion Head Winter Route, then back onto the TRT to the summit. Same way back down.
