Sometimes it can be hard to get a good underwater picture of a child in swim lessons. The swimmer must be balanced physically and emotionally and confident in their breathing. To be able to get a good picture of four young swimmers underwater is a real testament to their personal enjoyment of the water and their confidence in their swimming abilities. These young swimmers are ages 4, 5, and 6. Great swim class kids!

There are still a few spaces available for Preschool swim classes midweek mornings at 10:30am for swimmers ages 3-5 years old. There are five more classes in the "Early Spring" session remaining. Plenty of time to have some fun in the water and learn valuable water safety and swimming skills. Early Spring session classes end the 3rd week of April. The "Late Spring" session begins the 1st week of May and continue though the 3rd week of June.

Thirteen swimmers from the Agiochook Swim Team made the trek to Colebrook yesterday to compete in a swim meet with other swimmers from Colebrook, Lisbon, St. Johnsbury, and Lyndonville. Thank you to Nicholas (8), Abe (8), Wyatt (6), Rivir (8), Ava (11), Lilly (10), Clara (11), Enna (12), MacCary (13), Michael (14), Ryan (12), Romey (10), and Hannah (11) for attending the meet and putting forth a strong showing for Agiochook Swim Team. The roads and weather made for easy and scenic driving. The Agiochook swimmers set many "Personal Best Times" and took the challenge to swim new events. Special thanks go out to Kit Trumbull and Leah Kelsch for running the bullpen and basically running the meet. Without these two parents the meet would not have been so well organized and on time. The meets in Colebrook provide our swimmers with valuable meet and swimming experience. Though it's a long drive I definitely think it is worth the effort as the atmosphere is relaxed and allows swimmers and families to share the experience in a way that makes it family friendly and fun. Great Swim! Agiochook swimmers. Get ready for the meet in Lisbon, NH on Saturday March 30. If you have a young swimmer that might be interested in our youth swim team experience let me know. We'd be excited to add new swimmers to our team.

Great job John Fuller School Kindergarten class! Thank you to all of the swimmers, teachers, and support staff for making the recently completed seven-week Red Cross Learn to Swim program so successful, rewarding, and joyful. Since the kindergarten class does not participate in the ESSC Ski program a swim program is a perfect opportunity for these young students to learn valuable water safety and swimming skills that can have a positive impact throughout their lives. It was wonderful to hear their laughter, see their smiles, watch their development, and be a part of all the excitement. Monday's won't be the same without them so I'm already looking forward to doing it again next year.

Senior swimmers on the Agiochook Swim Team's Thursday night practice finish out the Winter session of training with a chilly foray out onto the deck for a group picture. Special mention goes out to swimmers Dawson, Madelyn, and Mackenzie Ramsdell from Limington, Maine who will be turning their interests and efforts to 4-H activities for the spring so will not be attending swim team practices. I am appreciative for the opportunity to have them be part of our swim team and for making the drive with their parents from Liminigton. The rest of the swimmers are preparing for upcoming meets in Colebrook on March 17 and Lisbon on March 30. Besides enjoying swimming, becoming better swimmers, and developing friendships with their teammates, practices and meets are helping us prepare for the Granite State Swim Association State Meet on August 2-4. That may seem like a long way off but time flies when you're having fun.

Sixty-five swimmers were enrolled in the Winter Session ranging in programs from Preschool, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 and ages 2.5-9 years. Congratulations to all of the swimmers and their parents for supporting Agiochook Aquatics. We all worked together to develop water safety and swimming skills that will make these young swimmers safer, stronger, and more confident in/on/around water. And we had a lot of fun doing it. "Early Spring" Session begins tomorrow, Friday March 1. Most classes are full though there are a few spaces available in the Preschool classes midweek at 10:30am. Great job swimmers!

OK. After a long time not using Facebook for all things related to swimming and programs at Agiochook Aquatics I am making an effort to post and respond. I apologize for the absence and therefore lack of communication. Here's to doing better in the future and helping people get timely information about Red Cross Learn to Swim Programs, Agiochook Swim team for youth 5-18, adult water fitness programs, Open Swim hours, Private Pool Parties, Pool Memberships and more.

Yesterday was a busy day at the pool. We had two private pool parties and lots of drop ins. It's still 85F air temperature and 83F water temperature at the pool. So if the excellent winter weather we've been having has you wishing for a warm and comfortable winter swim come by the pool.

Early Fall session of Red Cross Learn to Swim lessons and Agiochook Swim Team practices start this coming Tuesday September 4. Most of the Red Cross Learn to Swim lessons are full.

However, there is availability on the Parent & Child class on Saturday mornings at 11:00am. This class is for swimmers ages 9 months to 2.5 years with a parent in the water. Swimming with your child is the surest way to getting them to feel comfortable in the water and more likely to explore movement in the water enjoyably and confidently. Plus, it's just good fun swimming with your child. The lesson is as much for the parent as for the child. Parents learn the logical progression of skills which help young swimmers learn to become safer and more skilled when they are in, on, and around water.

The Agiochook Swim Team competed in its 3rd and final dual meet of the 2018 summer season at Brewster Beach in Wolfeboro on Friday, July 27. Twenty-three AST swimmers took part in the meet with ages ranging from 7 to 17, For most of our swimmers, this will be the last competition of the summer. The summer season was a complete success and a great place to start to build this team into something that parents, swimmers, and the community will be proud of. Congratulations to all AST swimmers that participated in swim meets at Brewster Beach this summer.

Eight AST swimmers are entered in the Granite State Swim Association State Meet in Manchester, NH next weekend August 3-4. AST will be one of around 27 teams with 1,000 swimmers competing in the meet. Competitive swimming at this level is good fun and helps build strong bodies and enjoyable relationships with teammates and fellow competitors.

Thank you to all parents for bringing their swimmers to practices and meets. Perfect summer weather for all of our swim meets made the experience even better for families and swimmers. The outdoor, open water venue at Brewster Beach in Wolfeboro is unique and exciting enough to make for enduring good memories.
