What is KIDO?

Born out of medical necessity and shaped by faith, KIDO Defense Systems exists to provide a passive, legally sound method of self-defense that protects the practitioner without relying on destructive impact. Built upon a lifetime of international and military training, our system utilizes the fluid, non-resistant principles of Kinjutsu, Tai Chi, Aikido, Hapkido, and other arts to neutralize threats safely. We believe our ultimate goal must never be to harm an opponent, but to preserve life and prevent injury. When we set out to avoid harm, we are less likely to get hurt, allowing our opponent to defeat themselves. Guided by biblical principles, KIDO embodies the nine Fruits of the Spirit as its core tenets, guiding our daily walk in the strength of love and forgiveness exemplified by Jesus our Savior. God's free gift to us is forgiveness and eternal life. Who are we not to forgive? Who are we not to love?
