2026 Bass Tour #5 - Echo
We had 40 anglers head to the mountains and brave the heat and boaters at Echo. The weather was pretty nice with a cool morning, once it heated up the clouds and smoke from the East Canyon fire kept the sun from beating down on us too much. Fish were plentiful but in the smaller ones. Only the top few anglers were able to find anything with some length to them. Next up is Starvation. We hope to see you there!

1st Place - Jason Connelly:
My day started out being woken up by bass blowing up everywhere at 3 am. I couldn't sleep and had to fight the urge to top water fish. Launch time I flew down to my start spot and there was no bass activity. So I turned back and started where I heard all the bass in the dark. My day was all drop shot and neds. Fish almost every cast for the first 4 hrs. Then I started hunting for where they moved. They tucked tight in 20 feet. So that's where I spent the rest of the day. Found the right fish! Thanks again to Joe and Mark for making it another great one!!! See you all at starvation!!!

2nd Place - Bruno Dumer:
Tournament day was tough. Felt like all my practice went out the window . At sunrise, the green pumpkin Dropshot with a chartreuse tail was producing. From 9–10:30, the Yamamoto Uni Coike was my best bait of the day—until I lost it! 😂 After that, I struggled to find quality fish and caught mostly undersized smallmouth. Around 1 PM, a football jig with a craw trailer finally produced one more 15" fish to finish my day.

3rd Place - Jeff Payne:
The morning started early. I arrived at the lake around 4:20 to start getting everything ready for launch. I love talking to everyone before launch. Also gave me time to put together my game plan. I wasn't able to pre fish so I started on a flat I had luck with previously. As I was headed to my spot I heard the fish blowing up so I went with top water. After 20 minutes with no luck I tried a Ned. No luck. I switched to "old trusty" drop shot and started catching fish. I was able to get a few on the board. As the sun was coming up I switched back to a Ned. That's when I caught my 16.25 golden hour bass. Then the struggle began. I decided to move and tried fishing a point, catching mostly little ones. Went back to the dropshot and was able to get my 5. By the end of day I was slipping down in rankings. After much effort and a lot of frustration I decided to move back to the flat I started at. In the last hour I was able to get the upgrades I needed to move me to 3rd place. It was a last minute grind. Caught a lot of fish, couldn't seem to find the one I was looking for. Win or lose, always have a good time hanging out with friends! That's what keeps me coming back.

2026 Bass Tour #4 - Flaming Gorge
We had 29 anglers make the drive to the gorge. Fishing all over the 91 mile long lake. Anglers were able to catch fish all over the lake but the big ones seemed to come out of Wyoming. We had a few rather large smallmouth submitted but it was hard for anglers to find/keep on a limit of 5. Can't wait to see you all at Echo!

1st Place - Caymen Rasmussen:
The gorge is an amazing fishery to say the least. For this tournament, and as crazy as it was, I had been watching fish on beds and guarding fry for almost a month. Last Tuesday I went out and way pointed as many of them as I could. About 75% of those fish left but the handful that were there was what I fished for all day. I almost gave up on that plan as I didn’t have a limit for about the first 3 hours and wasn’t seeing them where I started. Made a move to check on what was my 2nd 18 incher and she was still there. That was the fish that told me to stick with it. Caught a few smaller fish on a keitech swimbait to fill a limit, but all my big fish were guarding fry. They ate either an urchin, jig head minnow, or a drop shot. Just had to figure out what was going to p**s that fish off into biting. Shout out to Cipher Tungsten for making quality tackle, haven’t lost a fish in a long time and I gotta give them credit for that. Thanks to Kayak Fishing Utah for hosting another great tournament!

2nd Place - Myles Griguhn
Going into this one I knew I had to make the right decision on where to fish first thing, there was no fixing a mistake here. Ran around in practice a lot and got bites but nothing that made me super confident. I have 2 spots across the lake that I’ve caught fish on for a few years. Ran there Friday, got 2 bites and left, decided that’s where I was fishing Saturday. Saturday started off bad. Lost 2 16+ inchers in the first hour almost at the boat and landed my small fish. I had to grind this one out. After 8:30 I only got 4 bites the rest of the day bouncing between my 2 spots and a giant flat. Caught my fish on a 3.3 Keitech, a Megabass Sling Shad, and dragging a tube. Luckily the wind left us alone for this one. Thanks to Joe for hosting a great event!

3rd Place - Joe Randall
Headed up Thursday to prefish an area Kale wanted to try. Ended up finding some good fish and actually left them alone after this time instead of just keeping on fishing. Tried a bunch of different lures Thursday and Friday and seemed to only consistently get bit on my drop shot. They would chase my other baits but didn't seem to want them much. Tourney morning started on a spot where I caught some good ones. For the first hour I just kept breaking off on fish and getting stuck in the rocks. Upped my line size and still was having issues. So I left that spot to go to some others. Don't know why I had an issue that morning when I didn't break off once prefishing. Ended up finding one 18in and filling an avg limit for the rest. Lost another 17 or so at the boat. On the way back to the truck just fishing a drop shot as fast as I could while going 2 miles an hour I caught a few more fish but no big upgrades until the last fish. Ended up catching another 18in right before I left shallows to cross the lake to the truck. Submitting fish was impossible up there. Luckily I left and got on the road 15min before lines out so I could go get service and submit my fish 10min before the deadline. Thanks everyone for coming out!

2026 Bass Tour #3 Pelican Lake!!!
We had 38 anglers and 3 Jr’s take the trip to Pelican lake to chase some fish. 202 fish were submitted. I think almost all anglers were prepared for the high winds that were supposed to come, but luckily they held off and it was actually a really nice day with the cloud cover and almost no wind until the tourney was over. I was unable to grab pics before everyone left trying to escape the wind at the awards ceremony. Hope to see you all at Flaming Gorge!

Well my morning started off rough! First cast had a big tiger musky bite me off. Not a single fish for the first hour. After that the bite was on fire! Fluke and craws in the weeds was the ticket. As the day slowed shallow I went out in open water throwing Brian Allred spinnerbaits he made for me. Bite was fast. Just no huge upgrades. So I went back to the bull rushes. With an hour or so to go I had a huge top water blow up. It was the fish I needed. After that one more small upgrade. I fought hard all day and never gave up. Thanks to Joe and Steve for putting it on and feeding the rough crew!!! See yall at Flaming gorge!!!!

2nd Place - Travis Clinton
The forecasted wind had me nervous on this one. The few actual "spots" I have on that lake are not protected in any direction of wind. Pelican has always been good to me and this time was no exception. The wind held off until right at lines out. The fish were in my spots and were chewing.Fun day with good people for sure. See you at the next one.

3rd Place - Erin Guymon
We pre-fished the lake two weeks earlier and found a good spot off of a reed point. Brad caught a 20in fish there and I saw a bunch of bigger fish on my live scope. We stayed away from that area when we pre-fished on Friday and went to it first thing on Saturday when the tournament began. Nobody was around it so I hung out in that general area moving in and out of the reeds and casting as far back in as I dared. The fish seemed to cycle in and out and would reload soon after I caught one. I used a Texas rig the whole day and caught my bigger fish closer to the reeds.

We finally had some decent weather at the Mantua vs Hyrum Tourney! Anglers were able to find fish at both lakes and everywhere….but not the size. Most anglers struggled catching anything larger. But everyone still had a great time, especially hanging out at our favorite campground Mantua Waterfront RV Resort! Hope to see you all at the Trout and Kokanee tourney June 6th and Bass Tour #3 June 27th!

It started out being windy and cold. My fish had pulled off the shore. The first one came at 7:25. After that a couple of small ones. Not another big fish until about noon. I finally found a great bite. All my fish came off 1 tree. Would reload every 15 mins. The fluke was the bait!!! Finally upgraded last hour to put me in first. Hard but a blast!! Thanks again Joe Randall, Mark, and Steve!!!
Also Brian Allred for the good luck fishing shirt and lures!!!

I fished Hyrum. Had a plan of bed fishing but those fish left. I think due to the storm moving in. So went to plan B of flipping trees. Had a limit early, but had to work for a few upgrades. Spent all day in the one area making laps around it to come across the big fish moving up. After the first few bites I locked a senko in my hand and never put it down. Was a good tournament!

3rd Place - Hunter Hermann
Started out the morning fishing the northwest reeds and rocks in less than 3 feet of water and caught a few keepers before moving clockwise down the tree line. Once at the trees, I moved offshore and continued fishing in 3–5 feet of water. I got about three-quarters of the way down before turning back and fishing shallow for the remainder of the day.
I had a decent bag and was leading for a good portion of the day until the bite picked up at Hyrum Reservoir. I knew I needed to cull if I wanted to stay in the running. After gaining some good karma by helping a kid unsnag his crankbait, I threw a chatterbait up under some trees next to him and ended up pulling out the kicker I needed.
With 10 minutes left, I was able to get one more cull and solidify my spot in the top three! All day, I used chatterbaits in different weights depending on the depth.

We had 46 anglers and 3 Jr’s battle it out with well over 250 fish caught. The wind was insane!!!! But anglers were able to battle it and still catch some fish! We had a few new people that I hope still had a good time even with the wind and that keep coming back. Below is the standings and winnings along with recaps from your top 3 anglers. What can I say but holy wind!!! Morning started slow with a couple of crank bites shallow. All small fish so I changed it up and went deep. The fish were not really aggressive. Finally got my last upgrade at 2:30 to take me from 3rd to first. I was soaking wet and cold from the waves but all worth it! Never give up!!! Thanks to Brian Allred and Joe for all he does!!

2nd Place - Doug Roe

Wow… Sand Hollow Reservoir has always been a challenge for me. I’ve always been able to find fish, just never the quality ones. But during the Spring Fling, I finally started to figure them out—at least to a point.

During practice on Thursday, with limited time, I hit a few points around the island. I managed to pick up a small limit throwing a Ned (of course), but my main focus was dialing in some new electronics. Friday was a much better day for quality—I even landed my Sand Hollow PB. I really wish I’d had that fish on tournament day, but it was still a great experience. By the end of the day, I had identified three solid locations holding good fish, so the game plan was set.

The plan was to rotate between those three spots throughout the day, but the wind had other ideas and completely shut that down. Still, I was able to put together a solid limit within the first few hours—throwing, believe it or not, a chatterbait! I did lose a few good ones right at the net on that thing, though.

Once the wind picked up, the bite really died off. I didn’t get another quality bite until the final 20 minutes of the tournament. My last fish came on, shaking a Ned.

I’d like to thank KFU (Joe) for all the hard work he puts into organizing these tournaments, and BA Custom Baits for making the Ned heads I trust above all others.

3rd Place - Joe Randall

I didn't really find anything during practice. I was really hoping to flip reeds but the water was down. I just went fishing. Caught some deep and Caught some shallow. Like normal I found a better average of fish in my usual location, nothing big but just better averages. Headed back there on a tourney morning with no plan like normal other than just go fishing. Started with the old faithful drop shot and started catching some 15-16in fish. Got in the top 10 fairly fast but I didn't think it would last. My brother in law caught the Big Bass for the tourney and I thought if he could fill his limit with these fish here he had a chance at winning. I got into 3rd place about when the wind picked up and figured that would be the last good fish. I was able to catch 2 upgrades in the wind to move to first place. Headed to get off the water and get ready for the awards ceremony about 1:30 and figured someone would catch a last minute upgrade or was not submitting fish. Well Jason and Doug both caught a last chance upgrade to move them above me but I was still surprised to hold onto 3rd. Thank you to all the anglers for making this club fun to run!
