Today is June 29. By tomorrow, over 70% of the people who joined a gym in January will have stopped showing up. This is a shame, because the real key to fitness and health is consistency.
To build a lifelong fitness practice:
- You have to find an exercise you like;
- You have to have an appointment to exercise (not just the desire);
- You have to be accountable to someone else (like a coach or training buddy).
Think about the fittest person you know. I’m willing to bet:
- They love their workout, whether it’s running or pickup basketball or CrossFit;
- They do it at the same time, all the time;
- They have a list of friends who they only know because of their chosen workouts.
These people aren’t more social than anyone else. They’re not exercise fanatics. They don’t have more time in their day. They’re not more disciplined, don’t have more willpower–there’s nothing that makes them “born to be fit”. It’s the other way around:

- They tried a few things until they found something they like;
- They work out because they’ve scheduled their workout in their day, not because they have more ‘free time’ than anyone else;
- They have a coach or a group or a buddy who makes sure they show up on time.

LETS TALK ABOUT CHANGE!!!!🫣

Change is often first met with resistance. Whatever might be on the other side of that change is uncertain and unfamiliar…and our brain is literally wired to cling to certainty and familiarity in an effort to keep us safe.

And while our brain is great at keeping us alive🙏🙌 if we allow that survival fear and resistance of change to rule our world then it doesn’t allow us to truly thrive.😐

If you’re noticing changes around you and notice that resistance show up- you’re totally normal! Your brain is trying to protect you from the unknown.

We want to validate those feelings, but we also want to shine a little light on the insane power that exists outside of your comfort zone.💪

Have you ever wondered why those who invest the most or have the most skin in the game seem to have the most success?
Or how those who are always trying new things seem to have the most confidence & no fear of failure?
Or that those who are constantly intentionally exposing themselves to hard things seem to be able to find and experience so much happiness through it all?

Because learning to feel the fear and do it anyways (obviously when there’s not a real life or death threat!) is the secret to growth & expansion.
