Your head!! 🤕

The first thing we teach in Jiu-Jitsu isn’t how to win,
it’s how to fall.

Ukemi — the art of the break fall.

A proper break fall protects:

🤜 Head and neck
🤜 Wrist and elbows
🤜 Spine

Before you learn to throw, you learn to land. Before you learn to fight, you learn to survive impact.

A black belt isn’t someone who never gets thrown. It’s someone who has learned to fall 10,000 times and get up 10,001.

Fun fact: The black belt wasn't originally meant to symbolize perfection.
It symbolizes commitment.
Every black belt has been a beginner.
Every expert once struggled with the basics.
Progress isn't about being better than someone else.
It's about becoming better than you were yesterday.
