Basics should be taught like basics. Enough attention to get it right. Not so much detail you can’t remember any of it.
I’m not handing you every detail. I’m pointing you at a feeling. Try it on. The details show up in their own time.
There are two parts to the rear naked choke:
1. Setting the choke
2. Squeezing the choke, cinching the choke
Setting the choke should feel relaxed.
Wrists roll forward. Chest concaves. Arms loose.
It slides in without thinking about which hand goes where.
The squeeze feels strong. Head forward and close, like the top of a pull-up. Flex. Turn. Cinch.
Nobody escapes an RNC that’s fully set.
If they’re escaping yours, it was never set.
Throw it in five times on each side. Then dial in the cinch. Feel the difference.
