A little late to posting, but a couple weeks ago we held our annual XC banquet. It was such a great night! We came together to share stories, celebrate accomplishments, and enjoy a delicious potluck dinner filled with everyone’s favorite family dishes.

Athletes were recognized with awards, and we closed the evening with our seniors sharing their XC legacy speeches. It was inspiring to hear about their journeys, the lessons they’ve learned, and the words of wisdom they’re passing down to the underclassmen. The hope is that each athlete carries that legacy forward and one day adds their own chapter as a senior.

This group was truly something special. We made unforgettable memories and even made history this season! They have so much to be proud of.

To my seniors: whether this was your first year or you’ve been with us for many seasons — I will deeply miss your hard work, leadership, and sense of humor. No matter where life takes you, we will always be here for you.

🏆 STATE RECAP! 🏆

What a weekend for Holton XC! For the first time in school history, both our boys and girls teams qualified for state! We wanted to make it special — so we made a weekend out of it! 💙🤍

We kicked things off Friday in Lawrence watching the Big 12 Championships, which was an awesome experience for our athletes. Afterward, we explored Mass Street and enjoyed some fun team bonding — bowling, movies, dinner at Texas Roadhouse, and s’mores by the bonfire! 🔥

This morning, we took on the 3A State Championships in cold and windy conditions, but our runners showed up with heart and determination. The boys finished 10th and the girls 11th against tough competition. You have so much to be proud of!

This season has been an incredible journey filled with growth, teamwork, and perseverance. To our Seniors — it’s been an honor coaching you. Thank you for your leadership and the legacy you’re leaving behind. 💙🤍

STATE BOUND!! 🏆💙🐾

It was a cold and rainy day, but our athletes showed up ready to compete at Regionals! Despite battling injuries throughout the season, our girls showed incredible grit and perseverance, and the boys raced strong and together from start to finish.

Top 15 Individual Medalists:
🏅 Kennedy Smith – 9th
🏅 Sophia Goombi – 10th
🏅 Jacob Warner – 7th
🏅 Daniel Cannon – 9th

Top 3 Teams Advance to State:
🥉 Varsity Girls – 3rd Place
🥈 Varsity Boys – Team Runner-Up

BOTH TEAMS ARE HEADED TO STATE!! 🎉

I couldn’t be prouder of this group. Their hard work, positivity, and determination have carried them all season long. Let’s finish strong — one more week to go! 💪🏽

Today’s XC practice was extra special!💙
We visited the Heart of Jackson Humane Society and ran with some of their amazing dogs. So many smiles, wagging tails, and happy hearts! Huge thanks to the shelter for letting us spend time with your sweet pups. 🐶🏃‍♂️

The Holton boys XC team won a league title for the first time in 43 years (1982), 41 years in the Big 7 and 2 years in the Big East. They beat the favorites, Riley County, by 7 points to win the title.
