🍁 For Fall Ball, RHAA will be piloting a new one shift per family volunteer commitment. 🍁
What does this mean?
-Each RHAA family will be responsible for completing one concession volunteer shift during Fall Ball. It is up to families to choose a shift DURING your players game or another time.
-This includes both recreational and travel families.
-Shifts will typically be scheduled prior to the start of a game so volunteers can help with setup and ensure the concession stand is ready when families arrive.
-Each shift will last approximately 2 hours, depending on the schedule.
-Volunteers will work alongside a RHAA board member and/or designated concession staff member. No one will be expected to run the concession stand alone.
⬇️ Volunteer Responsibilities Include:
Setting up the concessions stand before games
Preparing and serving food and drinks
Running the register
Restocking items as needed
Keeping the concession area clean and organized
Helping with closing procedures when needed
🫡 Training and guidance will be provided. You do not need previous concession experience to volunteer.
🗓️ Scheduling
We understand families have busy schedules, choosing shifts that work for you allows parents to continue supporting their players and enjoying their games.
**If a conflict should arise with a scheduled time you chose, please reach out to Volunteer Board Member Grace Granata 585-309-8576 to reschedule and have your shift covered.
🧐 Why RHAA Is Making This Change
The concessions stand is an important fundraiser for RHAA. Revenue from concessions helps support our fields, equipment, programs, and future improvements.
By sharing the responsibility among all RHAA families, we can:
Keep more funds within our organization
Reduce staffing expenses
Improve concession operations
Continue investing in opportunities for our players
🙏 We appreciate the families who have already volunteered and supported concessions. This new model is designed to make the responsibility more consistent and fair across our entire RHAA community.
Fall Ball will serve as our trial period for this model, and we welcome feedback as we work together to make improvements.
