✨ Celebrating 25 Years of the Sumner County YMCA ✨

This week, we're featuring Tim Curtis, a dedicated YMCA member since 1983 and one of the original members of the Sumner County YMCA when we opened our doors in 2000.

Over the years, Tim has not only been a loyal member but also a generous supporter of our mission. His story reflects the friendships, memories, and sense of community that make the Y such a special place.

Thank you, Tim, for your dedication, generosity, and many years of support. ❤️

Each week, we celebrate one exceptional staff member as our C.O.W. — Counselor of the Week! This recognition goes to a counselor who consistently goes above and beyond, works hard, builds strong relationships with campers, and helps create a fun, positive, and memorable camp experience for all. Help us congratulate Miss Gia for Week 1 and Miss Carys for Week 2!

The OUTDOOR POOL will be CLOSED for the remainder of the day due to weather.

Just be aware that with a possibility of storms in the area this morning, there is a chance that we may have to close our track to accommodate our day camp kids.
If you walk the track, and there are storms, you may want to call ahead to check if it is open this morning. Thank you for understanding.

Congratulations to Nora! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our aquatics program!

A huge thank you to John Hoback #22 and Coach Chris Brady of the Sled Preds for spending time with our day campers during Sports of All Sorts Week!

John and Chris shared their experiences with adaptive sports and introduced campers to the exciting world of sled hockey. The Sled Preds are dedicated to growing adaptive hockey in Middle Tennessee while building a supportive, competitive, and inclusive hockey community.

We are especially proud that John is a longtime member of the Sumner County YMCA and grateful that he helped inspire our campers through his story and passion for the sport.

Thank you, John and Chris, for helping our campers learn about inclusion, perseverance, and the many ways people can enjoy sports and stay active!

✨ 25 Years of Stories ✨

This week, we’re featuring Kris, a longtime member of the Sumner County YMCA family. From serving as our former HR Coordinator to now welcoming members in our Membership Department, Kris has been part of countless moments, memories, and milestones over the years.

Her story is a reminder that the YMCA is more than a building—it’s the people who make this community feel like home. ❤️

Stay tuned as we continue sharing the stories of the people who helped shape the past 25 years of the Sumner County YMCA leading up to our anniversary celebration this summer!

As part of National Water Safety Month, we’re excited to introduce AngelEye, an advanced drowning detection system, in our indoor aquatics area. This new technology supports our lifeguards with real-time monitoring to help keep our members and guests safe in the pool. We’re proud to continue prioritizing water safety and look forward to another fun and safe summer together!
