As we continue to celebrate 25 years of the Sumner County YMCA, we're honored to highlight the people who helped shape our story from the very beginning. Few have left a mark quite like Deidre Morris. From serving on the Board of Directors and teaching group fitness classes to supporting the Y as a devoted advocate, philanthropist, and YMCA parent, Deidre's impact spans generations. For her family, the Y has always been more than a gym. It's been a second home, a place where lifelong friendships were formed, memories were made, and community flourished. Join us as we celebrate Deidre's remarkable legacy and the countless ways she has helped make the Y the special place it is today.

Last night, we had the honor of celebrating an extraordinary woman, Tammy Hayes, as the recipient of the 2026 Community Impact Award from the Sumner County YMCA.

Friends, family, YMCA members, and community supporters gathered to express their gratitude for the countless ways Tammy has positively impacted our YMCA and the entire Sumner County community. Her generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to serving others have touched countless lives.

Tammy, thank you for the difference you make every day. We are grateful to know you, grateful to work alongside you, and grateful for the legacy of impact you continue to create.

Splashing into Fall with Full Circle!

We celebrated the start of our fall Full Circle session with a Family Pool Party and had an amazing time together! The YMCA’s Full Circle Program provides individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities opportunities to participate in activities that promote independence, social connections, and healthy living.

This fall:
💃 Dance | Tuesdays at 4 PM
💪 Fitness | Fridays at 4 PM
🏊 Swim Lessons | Scheduled individually with instructors

Dolly Parton was a shining light throughout our state and across the globe. Her dedication to her community, literacy, and humanitarian efforts inspire us and the work we do at the Y. She is a true Tennessee icon, and we will remember her forever.
