🎉 Camp Counselor of the Week – Weeks 9 & 10! 🎉

As we wrap up another fantastic summer, we're celebrating two counselors who have given their all from start to finish. Their energy, patience, and dedication to our campers have made a lasting impact all summer long.

Congratulations to Mr. Caleb and Miss Hannah! Thank you for showing up each day with enthusiasm, kindness, and a commitment to creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for every camper. Your positive attitude and hard work have helped make Summer Camp 2026 one to remember!

Due to a recent change in the Sumner County Schools calendar and the updated first day of school, we are pleased to offer additional Summer Day Camp on Tuesday, August 4, and Wednesday, August 5.

If you still need childcare, we also have limited spots available on August 6 and 7. We encourage you to register as soon as possible, as availability is limited.

✨ 25 Years of Stories ✨

This week, we're celebrating Donna McClellan, one of our original members who has been part of the Sumner County YMCA since day one.

After retiring from Sumner County Schools in 2008, Donna continued making the Y a part of her daily life—first working out alongside her three children, and today watching two of her grandchildren learn to swim here. She has built lifelong friendships, values the Christian atmosphere, and now says the Y is where she comes for both exercise and fellowship. At six workouts a week, she's also quick to say we're her "physical therapy!"

When asked what she would change about the Y after 25 years, Donna's answer was simple: "Not a thing." From our staff to our housekeeping team, she says the caring attitude and welcoming environment are what make the Sumner County YMCA so special.

Thank you, Donna, for 25 years of friendship, encouragement, and unwavering support. ❤️

The summer heat is on, and we're making our way to the finish line of another incredible camp season! Through the long, hot days, these two have continued to show up with smiles on their faces and fun in their hearts.

This week, we're featuring Josh Landry, who served as the Sumner County Family YMCA's Senior Program Director from 2008–2012.

Josh's passion for the YMCA mission began here in Sumner County and continues today as Vice President of Operations for the YMCA of the Capital Area in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His journey is a wonderful reminder that the impact of our Y extends far beyond our walls.
