The Colonel archers went to Louisville, KY yesterday to compete in the NASP Eastern Nationals. Although it wasn't out best showing of the year, they performed well and as always... represented Henderson County to the best of their ability. I had two different lane officials come up to me and tell me that they appreciated our archers positive attitude and willingness to help the younger archers when scoring. Although we are there to compete, it's always great to know that other teams, coaches and officials see our archers in a positive light. For this, we are prouder than ever of this team.

We had several archers shoot their personal best yesterday, too. They are...

Lily Bassett - 3D
Addlyn Bishop - 3D
Johannah Burczyk - 3D
Brianna Roy - 3D & Bullseye
Natalee Stone - 3D
Aurora Tomas - Bullseye
Sawyer Wolf - 3D & Bullseye

We look forward to seeing our archers and their families on May 12th (6:00 PM) for our awards banquet where we will celebrate their success of this season.

The Lady Colonel archers and Abe Moore competed at the 2026 KHSAA State Archery Tournament today at Central Bank Center in Lexington, KY. Although it wasn't the finish we were hoping for, they competed and represented Henderson County wonderfully. The ladies finished 13th out of 22 schools and Abe finished 19th out of 295 males.

A big shout-out to friends, family and teammates who made the drive to support these archers!

These two ladies don't get near enough appreciation, and I probably should have done this long before now... but here we go.

Alisha and Jennifer take care of so much stuff for the coaching staff, and team, and it doesn't go unnoticed by us. They handle daily attendance, tournament signups, concessions signups, collecting/distributing paperwork not to mention their board duties. Plus they are at the building early before we board the bus to make sure check-in goes well, then head off to the tournaments to make sure the cards are paid for, picked up, filled out and ready when the team rolls in. Then they stick around all day and help corral the archers who aren't shooting while the coaches are out on the line coaching those who are shooting. And most importantly, they answer phone calls and texts when Coach Monte needs a parent's name/number, but is no where near a computer to look it up.

On behalf of all the coaching staff and archers thank you both for all you do!!! We really appreciate you both!

Yesterday was such a GREAT DAY TO BE A COLONEL. We hosted the Region 1 KHSAA Archery Tournament, which was kicked off by Colonel archer Marley Staton singing the National Anthem. The girls team took 1st place led by Ellen Chaney who took 2nd Place female in the region with a 290. The boys team placed 6th, but Abe Moore shot a 294 to take 1st place male in the region. Both the girls team and Abe qualified for the KHSAA State Archery Tournament on April 21 at the Central Bank Center in Lexington.

We'd like to give a huge shout-out to all the volunteers who came out and helped us by working the range, admissions, registrations and concessions. There were past and present archery members, families and coaches helping us out. It was so great to see faces from the past and we are grateful that they still care about this program. I'll probaly leave someone out, and I apologize in advance, but here's who I had on my list...
