Please join us tonight for one last hurrah in our coed Maroon & White match, celebrating another wonderful season for North Soccer!

The match will be held at The Plex with kickoff set for 5:30 PM.

Entry is free, but we will have a suggested entry fee donation of $5 per person. All donations will be going to support the family of Angel Arroyo as he continues to recover from his recent accident.

Angel is a very special player of the Henderson Soccer community, and we continue to pray for him and his family and hope to have his smiling face and always upbeat personality around the fields just as soon as he can!

🏆⚽️ CITY CHAMPIONS! 🏆⚽️

The NMS Cadets are the 2025 City Champions after an unforgettable 2-0 win over the SMS Bulldogs! This was not just a final. It was a show. From the opening whistle to the last second, both teams played at a level far beyond their years, and the energy on the field was electric.

Fletcher Overton opened scoring from a well-placed free kick from about 35 yards out in the first minute of the 2nd half. Oliver Gugel gave us the second goal later in the 2nd off of an incredible assist from Miguel Montejo. Ezekiel Flores stood tall in goal, commanding the back line, owning our box, and stopping all 5 shots he faced to record the clean sheet—his 3rd of the season. The Cadets unleashed wave after wave of attack, firing an incredible 26 shots on goal, moving the ball with confidence, and pressing relentlessly. South refused to back down and made us fight for every chance, defending with grit and countering with dangerous moments that demanded our very best to keep control of the match.

The scoreboard read 2-0, but the game was so much more. It was two teams going toe to toe, pushing each other to their absolute limits, and giving Henderson County a final to remember. South deserves enormous credit for the fight they showed and for how much they improved throughout the season. They made us earn this championship in every sense of the word.

This victory marks the first time in school history that North has beaten South in the city final, and it caps off a season where all three Henderson County middle schools delivered an incredible level of parity and competition. Every match felt like it could go either way, and it showed just how much talent is spread across our city.

The Cadets finish the year 7-3-2, raising the third City Championship trophy in program history. But more than that, this team showed what it looks like to rise to the moment, play with heart, and put on a performance that people will be talking about for years.

Thanks to all of our families and fans for their incredible support throughout another great season of Cadets Soccer!

⭕️⚪️ CITY CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT ⭕️⚪️

NMS Cadets vs SMS Bulldogs. The Final. The showdown Henderson County has been waiting for.

For the last four years the City Championship has been North vs Holy Name. Tonight the story changes. For the first time in five years, we finally face South in the Championship once more.

Six straight finals. Two titles already. Tonight the Cadets march into battle for number three and to bring the trophy back home where it belongs! 🏆

The beautiful game is unforgiving when a team loses its identity. Soccer exposes the individual, magnifying every flaw and punishing every mistake. Yet, it rewards those who play for one another in pursuit of something greater than themselves. The game was never meant to be conquered alone.

Last night we learned that lesson the hard way. We went into halftime up 1–0 and carrying confidence. In just the first fifteen minutes of the second half, we conceded three goals and found ourselves on the back foot. The boys clawed one back with ten minutes left, pressing hard to find the equalizer, but we couldn’t break through.

Final: Cadets 2 – Cardinals 3

We’ll regroup, we’ll refocus, and we’ll be ready. Tonight brings another Henderson rival as we head to South for our first match in our home & away series with them. The journey continues.

Another chapter in one of Henderson’s best rivalries kicks off tonight at Newman Park!

North vs. Holy Name has been a back and forth battle for years. Two programs that always find themselves in the hunt for city titles, always ready for each other, and always bringing out the best in one another. These are players who share the field as teammates in the spring, but become friendly rivals every fall.

Both sides have had this one circled for months. Girls kick at 5:30, boys to follow around 7:15.

After a tough home opener earlier this week against a very talented Apollo side, the Cadets bounced back on the road last night in dramatic fashion. We found ourselves in an early hole once again, trailing 0-1 at halftime to a well-coached Daviess County team.

The second half was a back-and-forth battle full of grit and determination. The boys stayed composed, equalized twice, and then found the game winner in the closing seconds to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Proud of the fight from our guys, and plenty of respect to both Apollo and Daviess County. We look forward to the chance to compete with them both again later this season.

Next week brings two more big road tests as we take on our fellow Henderson County schools. We’ll face the HNS Cardinals on Monday the 25th at Newman Soccer Complex and then the SMS Bulldogs on Tuesday the 26th at South Middle School. Both matches are set for 7:00 PM kickoffs, following the girls games in doubleheader action.

📣 FINAL TRYOUT REMINDER – TONIGHT 📣

Our second and final tryout session for the upcoming NMS Cadets Soccer season kicks off tonight at 6:00 PM at North Middle School, and will conclude at 7:30 PM.

Any player who plans to be part of this season must attend tonight’s session or contact us directly if they are unable to make it.

⚠️ Players not in attendance or not reaching out will not be considered for the team.

✅ Team selections will be made this evening, and those selected will receive notification after the session wraps up.

Players who make the team are strongly encouraged to attend the Henderson Middle School Teams Camp sessions being hosted by HCHS Colonels Soccer at the Henderson County High School practice fields tomorrow and Thursday.

🗓 A full summer training schedule will be handed out at tryouts this afternoon.

📄 All players who have not yet turned in their sports physical MUST bring it tonight or they will NOT be eligible to participate in any team activities.

Let’s get after it tonight, Cadets. The season starts now. 💪
