In late February, Team Aftoner's competed in the "Bob Hosking Central Division Championships" up in Ironwood, Michigan. U14 & U16 racers competed to qualify for the Rocky/Central Regional Junior Championships held in Steamboat Springs, CO (U16) and Vail, CO (U14). Team Afton qualified more U16s (11) and U14s (13) to the Rocky/Central JC's than any other club in the Central Division.

From the U16 Junior Championships, Luke Mjanger qualified for U16 Nationals in Grand Targhee, WY.

At the U14 Junior Championships in Vail, CO -- Team Aftoner's also found the Podium! It should be noted that several Team Afton 1st-Year U14s had fantastic performances out in Vail -- cracking the top 20, top 30, & ascending huge "bibbo" jumps from their start-to-finish position.

April Showers 🌧️ bring May Flowers 💐 -- the weather's turning & we can't help but reminisce on a great ski season!

We had a terrific Paul Augustine Jr. Champs back in February! Team Afton came together to host an exciting event with great conditions & lots of competitors from all over the Midwest (MN, WI, IL, MO) & Canada ()! Thank you to , , & all of the volunteers who worked to make this year's PAJC one to remember!

At the PAJC, Team Afton also announced the "Tony Olin Fund for Ski Racing & Coaching Excellence" to recognize one of the most extraordinary youth sports coaches in Minnesota History. TonyO has coached thousands of young athletes towards their personal goals including developing state, national, & Olympic Champions.

The Fund ensures our athletes and coaches at Team Afton can thrive for years to come. The Fund will strengthen our coaching program, expand training opportunities, & invest in critical equipment that supports alpine racing experiences for all our athletes. Team Afton athletes, parents, and alumni have already committed close to $200,000 to this amazing effort.

Want to try Ski Racing? Curious about Joining Team Afton??

Join us on Sunday, March 8th for a Free Open Practice!

This FREE training session is for budding young ski racers ages 16 and under. Must have ski poles (shin guards & hand guards encouraged), a helmet, strong-parallel ability, & a strong interest in furthering their ski racing abilities. Waivers REQUIRED.

When: Sunday, March 8th 2:45-6:00pm
2:45pm — Arrive
3:15pm — Introductions, Meet Outside TeamHuis (at base of Hill 2)
3:30pm — Set Courses/Free-Ski Warm Up
3:45-6:00 — Train SL
Where: Afton Alps, MN

What: Slalom (SL) & Giant Slalom (GS) — if you don’t have GS skis, no problem! You may ski the GS course in SL skis or just focus on SL.

Training Ticket (if needed): $36 (pickup in Guest Services)

Rocky/Central U14/U16 Qualifier at Jackson Creek Resort in da UP.
