I’ve been fishing Lake Guntersville for more than 46 years, and during that time I’ve located many natural spring holes. Some of these I found after logging thousands of hours scanning the depths of this incredible lake. Others I stumbled upon purely by luck.

For years, I knew of one in Seibold Creek and had heard about a second, but despite decades on the water, I had never come across it until recently. Like a few others, it was one I happened to find by chance.

Today, I know the locations of 34 natural spring holes on Guntersville. Not all of them produce fish year-round, but some are consistent producers throughout much of the year. These spots are truly a “gold mine” for bass fishing, as bass often relate to them during various seasons.
