Out with the old. In with the new.

I love wearing my command ballcap. I wear it nearly every day and I enjoy the attention it gets from fellow veterans and shipmates.

But daily wear comes at a price: fading.

After a year of festivals, fairs, yard sales, beach trips and all around out in public, the Sun takes its toll, fading the crisp blue to a dusty purple. So I buy a new cap and retire the old to garage use (and the garage cap gets tossed out).

My last two replacements have been from MilitaryBest. They’re made here in Scottsboro, Alabama and owners Lisa and Bob Freeman are the nicest people.

Militarybest makes all kinds of military-related apparel, including shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, pins, patches, decals, as well as caps for all branches of service (even the Coast Guard). 😝

The “1000 Project” is complete!

Over the past two week, I’ve loaded up over one thousand rounds of 9mm Luger, in 100-round batches. Nothing fancy. Just a lot of down-n-dirty target rounds with no case prep other than cleaning and sizing.

My AP-5 is a hungry child. 😂

Changed out the handguard on the AP-5. The original is slimmer and real close to the barrel which, when in brrrrrt mode, gets extremely hot. This new one from Magpul is thicker and sits farther away from the barrel, so should be better at keeping cooler during extended range sessions.

Had a blast working the 2025 NRA show with my friends at Starline Brass. Got to meet lots of “my people” - old military veterans and cartridge enthusiasts. I’m very blessed to be a part of this great community.
