This weekend was truly one I’ll never forget.
I’ve been an avid fisherman for most of my life, and my favorite fish have always been the salmonids.
Over the years, I’ve fly fished, float fished and done a lot of trolling. I’ve been fortunate enough to catch many incredible species throughout the Great Lakes and connecting waters. But one fish remained elusive above all the others: the Atlantic salmon.
On Friday, we set out to chase a dream and test the odds. In just two days, we fished three Great Lakes!
Starting our our adventure on Lake Huron, making our way to Lake Michigan, and finishing in new waters on Lake Superior.
After years of learning, exploring, and pursuing every salmonid species that calls the Great Lakes home, I finally completed the journey. ❤️
This video is more than a collection of fish photos. It’s a walk through years of memories, adventures, friendships, early mornings, long drives, successes, failures, and hard lessons learned along the way.
Thank you to my amazing wife, Kaitlyn. None of these adventures would be possible without your love, support, and encouragement. ❤️
I hope you all enjoy this trip down memory lane as much as I enjoyed living it.
My good friend Justin said it best when he said, “we’ve caught more BIG fish than most people catch total fish in their lifetime”. I feel so blessed, honored, and humbled by the beauty each of these species brings and the adventure we had trying to catch them.
