Michigan Tech Huskies Social Media Policies Regarding Appropriate Fan Behavior
Causes for deletion of fan/user posts. The Michigan Tech Huskies will not tolerate inappropriate content being posted to our official social media pages, including, but not limited to, facebook® and Twitter® accounts. Inappropriate content includes, but is not limited to:
1) Obscene, profane, racist, sexist, or discr
iminatory posts;
2) Content that attacks individual Michigan Tech Huskies student-athletes by name, or in a way that makes it clear who is being referenced;
3) Content that attacks a specific group of Michigan Tech Huskies student-athletes;
4) Mean-spirited posts
SPAM OR UNWANTED MARKETING. Entities not officially associated (i.e. a sponsor currently under contract) with the Michigan Tech Huskies may not advertise or promote anything through the Michigan Tech Huskies social media pages. Entities that are official sponsors of the Michigan Tech Huskies currently under contract may negotiate social media promotions into their contract with the Michigan Tech Athletic Marketing office. If contractually obligated to promote a sponsor through social media, it is our right to ensure that the message complies with all applicable NCAA rules and legislation. Any promotional posts outside of these parameters will be removed. OFF TOPIC MESSAGES. The Huskies page is a place for our fans to interact with the Huskies and each other on all things Michigan Tech Athletics. Posts that diverge from this purpose will be deleted at the discretion of the Athletic Department. Causes for banning a fan/user. Violations of the above policies, or behavior deemed inappropriate by the Michigan Tech Huskies will be cause for banning a user from the Huskies’ official social media pages without warning. First offense is just cause for being banned, though the Huskies reserve the right to determine this on a case-by-case basis as deemed appropriate.
