Future show riders in the making! 🐴🏆

Great Island brought 16 Academy riders & 5 horses to the Connecticut Morgan Horse Show this weekend. We had a few first-time exhibitors, several new horse-and-rider combinations, and a fun day of learning and showing.

Thank you to our riders, families, instructors, Taylor River friends, & horses for making it such a great day!

Congratulations are in order for our student Victoria Choquette! 🎉

Her parents surprised her this evening with a partial lease on academy horse Don’t Blink CH, better known as “Austin!” 🐴

Victoria has been riding for about a year and a half and got her start in the winter tournaments this past season. She’s now excited to take the next step into the Academy division—and we couldn’t be more proud!

Wishing this special pair a successful and fun show season ahead. The future is bright! ✨

What a weekend at Great Island Riding Academy! 🤍 Our annual FUN SHOW welcomed 59 riders for a day full of fun, growth, and great rides.

Our in-house show is one of our favorites—giving new riders a chance to step into the show ring, while our Academy team continues to build confidence and polish their skills.

We’re so proud of everyone who participated! ✨

Swipe to meet the tiny humans currently “running” the barn — setting the lesson schedule, assigning horses, organizing the mounting block lineup, and making sure summer camp goes on (with snacks on time, obviously).

We’d like to say we’ve mostly grown up since these were taken… but honestly, the barn still runs on a little chaos, a lot of imagination, and confident boss energy. 🐴☀️
