Tami Aldrin was born on April 14, 1945 to Joseph and Margaret (Dingwall) Rogowski. She was a lifelong resident of the Calumet Region and was a graduate of Morton High School, Hammond, Class of 1963. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Whiting, the Whiting-Robertsdale Chamber of Commerce (board member) and the Hessville HC3 Chamber of Commerce (board member). Dance was Tami’s life. Better known as “Miss Tami” to her thousands of students over the years, she was the former owner of The Dance Connection in Hessville from 1988 to 2000. Tami began as a student here (which was formerly Muffet’s School of Dance), then became an instructor and ultimately the co-owner with her best friend, Cindy Melchor. She loved to teach children and had a special place in her heart for sharing dance with students with disabilities through The SHARE Foundation with the Handicapped. Tami was parades, pierogi, Glögg parties, kilted family reunions, dusting off the old dance steps, singalongs with all the old songs. She was tea with toast and loving her grandkids the most. A devoted mother, grammy, sister and friend to many, Tami will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The SHARE Foundation with the Handicapped, P.O. Box 400, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371, (219) 659-4400.
