Water quality testing on Aug 12 showed levels safe for swimming again.

Nashoba Paddler was thrilled to be able to guide these trips, introducing several families to the beauty of the Nashua River!

National Park Trust, Home Base, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service brought Massachusetts military families together for a day of paddling at Oxbow National Wildlife Refuge, launching a new partnership to connect service members and veterans to their local wildlife refuges.

The Nashua River Watershed Association's August 5th water quality monitoring reported the water near Nashoba Paddler (as well as several other locations within the watershed) to be unsafe for swimming due to high bacteria count. Heavy rains can cause this to happen in rivers. Typically our location is well within safe limits and hopefully will return to normal quickly.

What if your office wasn't a cubicle, but a river?

The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) is looking for a TerraCorps Community Engagement Coordinator to help deliver environmental education programs, support community paddles, engage volunteers, and connect people to the rivers, streams, and wildlife of the Nashua River Watershed.

This role combines environmental education, outdoor recreation, community engagement, and conservation. It's an opportunity to spend a year building skills, gaining experience, and helping others discover the natural world.
