One of the Greatest things GC Schools and the community had going for them taken to soon. Please keep this family in your prayers over the next several months.

Today, the GC family joins so many others in grieving the loss of Daniel Gullett, Assistant Principal at Greenup County High School, while also honoring the incredible life and legacy he leaves behind.

Mr. Gullett left us far too early, but he leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, service, laughter, and quiet kindness.

To those who knew him, Daniel was the real deal — a good man, a steady hand, a quiet helper, and someone who made people feel at home. He was a devoted husband to Sara, a loving father to Jack and Gage, a cherished family member, a loyal friend, and a trusted educator who made a lasting impact on countless students, staff members, families, and community members.

At Greenup County High School, Principal Gullett was more than an administrator. He was a steady presence, a mentor, a supporter, and someone students knew was in their corner. He had a special way with people, especially kids. He could calm them down, straighten them out, make them laugh, encourage them, and remind them that they mattered.

Daniel did not make a big show of being a good man.

He just was one.

He loved to cook, feed people, laugh, and bring others together. His home was a gathering place where stories were told, laughter came easy, and everyone felt welcome. That same spirit carried into his work, his friendships, and the way he served others every day.

Cancer is cruel and unfair, and Daniel’s passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. But he would not want people stuck on asking why, or sitting around being too serious for too long. He would want us to take care of each other, tell the stories, laugh at the memories, and keep showing up for one another.

Because that is exactly what he did.

To honor Daniel, love like he loved. Feed people and their souls. Check on them. Laugh often. Show up. Help without needing credit. Pick on the people you love just enough to make them smile. And when something needs done, be the person who says, “I’ll take care of it.”

Daniel Gullett did that his whole life.

And he made this world better because of it.

The entire Greenup County Schools family extends our deepest love and sympathy to Daniel's wife, Sara; his sons, Jack and Gage; his family; his friends; our Greenup County High School students and staff; and all who were blessed to know him.

We also want to remind our students, staff, and families that support is available through Regroup for anyone who may need help during this difficult time.

Grief affects everyone differently, and no one has to go through it alone. Anyone who needs support, someone to talk to, or help processing this loss is encouraged to reach out.

Visitation for family, students, and friends will be held Thursday, June 11, at Greenup County High School from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at the same location, with Principal Anthony Thompson officiating.

Rest Easy, Mr. Gullett. There will never be another one like you.
