’Twas the night before State Track, the stage finally set,
For the fastest and fiercest that Kansas has met.
The spikes all laid out by the front door with care,
In hopes that a State Title soon would be theirs.
305 races in two days ahead,
While dreams of gold medals danced loud in each head.
From sprinters to throwers, from jumpers to relays,
Every athlete now waits for their moment and payday.
114 champions soon to be crowned,
As records are broken and new stars are found.
Some will leave legends, some heartbreak, some glory,
But all will help write this year’s State Track story.
So rest up tonight, because tomorrow brings fire,
When Kansas State Track takes the stage even higher.
