6/6 at Ogilvie Raceway Race Report

Heat - 1st
Feature - 2nd

We finally made our way to a racetrack this weekend after mother nature washed out on Thursday, we had considered racing Princeton on Friday but made a call earlier in the day based on the forecast. I started the night off on a high note by winning my heat race, it was a little strange going out first but I remembered how to keep my foot to the floor and was able to score the heat race win. I started 2nd in the feature and thought I had something for the leader on a few restarts but I couldn't quite keep the top rolling long enough to make a really strong challenge for the win.

Congrats to Ryan Kostreba on the win and the plan for next is run Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to make-up for some of these races we've missed!

5/28 at KRA Speedway and 5/30 at Viking Speedway Race Report

I decided to try my luck at KRA Speedway in Wilmar after not being there for almost 3 years, and with the way the car has been driving this year I knew we had potential to have a good run there. The car worked almost perfectly there and I was able to cruise on my way to my first feature win of 2026, the restarts were a little nerve-racking at the end but thankfully I never had a real big challenge from someone trying to steal the win. Then on Saturday we were back at my home track Viking Speedway, I was hoping to be a little faster in the heat race but knew things would most likely change in the feature. The car was working pretty well and I was able to run third most of the race and have a front row seat of a pretty amazing battle. I was hoping to get up there and join in a little closer but didn't have quite enough speed or space to really get involved. Congrats to Trevor Saurer on the win and if you haven't seen the battle between him and Travis make sure you check it out!

Unfortunately rain washed out Friday and Saturday on the weekend so we got things started out on Sunday at Viking Speedway. I felt pretty good in the heat race but ended up getting a little stuck in traffic but luckily was just good enough for the redraw. I started outside pole for the feature and had some confidence I could contend for the win but made a few too many mistakes and maybe should've had a little better tires on. Then on Monday I felt kind of slow in the heat race so decided it was time to mount up some new tires and that helped tremendously. I had a really fun race with some good battles at the front and was happy with another podium finish.

The plan is to race at KRA Speedway tomorrow!

Honestly I can't express enough how happy I am with the results we had from this weekend. I would never have guessed I would manage to win my heat race considering I was running my first laps on my brand new car. Then to also follow it up with a run up to 2nd place after starting 6th was about perfect. On Saturday the car was once again pretty good, I didn't feel super fast in the heat but the car definitely shaped up for the feature. It was a lot of fun battling with the 7a for 2nd for awhile and I was content with coming in 3rd place behind the two previous wissota national champions. I have tons of optimism for the season after this weekend and look forward to getting back out next weekend!
