The four stages of competence.
1.Unconscious Incompetence:
You don’t know what you don’t know. In other words, you’re unaware of the skill or knowledge you lack.
2.Conscious Incompetence:
You become aware of what you don't know. You realize there’s something you need to learn.
3.Conscious Competence:
You know how to do something, but it takes effort and focus. You’re actively thinking through the steps.
4.Unconscious Competence:
The skill becomes second nature. You do it easily without needing to think about it.
