Recent Cedarburg softball pitching legends.
Add another name to the wall: Emily Johnson.
The Cedarburg senior has been nothing short of spectacular this season, establishing herself as one of the most dominant two-way players in Wisconsin softball history.
Inside the circle, Johnson has posted a dazzling 1.21 ERA with a 12-4 record and 175 strikeouts in 110 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .171 batting average.
At the plate, she’s been just as dangerous.
Johnson is batting .481 with 11 home runs, 35 RBIs, a 1.052 slugging percentage, and an eye-popping 1.600 OPS.
Already Cedarburg’s all-time career home run leader entering the day, Johnson added another blast — her 28th career home run — to her historic total on Saturday, continuing to build one of the greatest careers the Bulldogs program has ever seen. She also owns Cedarburg’s single-season home run record with 11 this spring.
Cedarburg fans have already witnessed her deliver in the biggest moments imaginable.
Last season, Johnson crushed a walk-off home run against Brookfield East to send the Bulldogs to the state tournament — a swing that instantly became part of Cedarburg softball lore.
Now, she’s trying to lead Cedarburg back there again.
On Saturday against Hortonville, Johnson once again reminded everyone why the Bulldogs remain dangerous heading into the postseason.
Facing one of Wisconsin’s premier programs, the left-hander completely took over the game. Johnson struck out 13 batters, allowed just four hits, and threw a complete game in Cedarburg’s 2-1 victory.
Oh, and she also hit a home run and drove in both Bulldogs runs.
It was another classic Emily Johnson performance — dominant in the circle, clutch at the plate, and fearless in the biggest moments.
The postseason path ahead won’t be easy.
Cedarburg enters the Division 1 Sectional 5 bracket as the #3 seed behind powerhouse programs Hamilton and Hartford. The Bulldogs are 0-3 against those teams this season, and the road back to Madison is loaded with challenges.
But one thing is certain:
With Emily Johnson in the circle and in the lineup… never count Cedarburg out.
