Brunswick Sport Triples

Brunswick Sport Triples Hdcp Sport league bowls Thu nights in the fall/winter season at 6:45p. Mixed league, 3 bowlers/team These patterns are SUPPOSED to play hard.

The Brunswick Sport Triples league is New England's longest-running winter SportBowling league. Starting as a doubles league in 2003, this season marks the league's 24th consecutive year of offering bowlers an alternative to the modern out-of-control scoring environment that does little to prepare bowlers for the tournament season and tougher lane conditions. Contrary to the beliefs of many, this

league is NOT just for bowling's elite bowlers. While it is true that the higher-average bowlers may have more to gain from bowling on tougher patterns - in part due to their skill level and work ethic - new and/or handicap bowlers have plenty to gain from this type of league also. Will bowling in this league turn a 180 average bowler into a 220 average? Highly doubtful ... not unless you're some kind of bowling prodigy. What you get out of this league will be exactly what you put into it. If all you do is complain, don't expect much of an ROI... so check your attitude at the door. Your average IS going to take a hit ... quite possibly, a big one. But that's NOT why you're joining this league, right? You're joining for reasons like:

o Teaching yourself to stay calm and focused when lanes are tough
o Teaching yourself the value of spares, and how to shoot them
o Teaching yourself to play different parts of the lane
o Teaching yourself to keep your head steady and see your target
o Teaching yourself to repeat shots

And even if you are NOT in it to improve your game, here's a little-known fact for you competitive handicap bowlers out there... SportBowling leagues provide better competition for you. Despite having a handicap, a stacked team of 220 average bowlers on a typical house shot has a huge advantage. The difference between their averages and an "average" bowler's average could be up to 40-50 pins per bowler, easy. Put those same two teams in a SportBowling league, and the gap shrinks - usually quite significantly - helping to level the playing field. So if you're competitive and you're thinking "I'm not good enough for that league," think again. The Brunswick Sport Triples leagues bowls Thursday nights at 6:45pm. We typically start in late August and bowl 34-36 weeks, depending on holidays. The league is split into three equal-length rounds, each featuring Sport patterns of varying lengths that are drawn at random before the start of the season. Patterns from several bowling organizations are included in the lottery, including:

o PBA
o PWBA
o Kegel
o USBC OC
o USBC Masters
o USBC Queens
o US Open
o US Women's Open

Each round consists of three different oil patterns split into 3- or 4-week blocks: 1 short pattern, 1 long and 1 medium. The league has several jackpots - some scratch, some handicap:

o Progressive Jackpot
o Mystery Score Jackpot
o High scratch game of the week
o High scratch series of the week
o High hdcp game of the week
o High hdcp series of the week
o $100 Match Point Champions Roll-Off (Hdcp)
o $100 SportBowler of the Year Roll-Off (Scratch)
o $100 SportBowling Team Championship

BLATHER BLOG: WEEK 3 MYSTERY SCORE
We're three weeks into the first four-week block of the Gardner Ten Pins round, SportBowlers! No money paid out in the Progressive yet... but at least so far, we've paid our $$$ every week in the Mystery Score pool this season! Will that streak continue in week 3? We have the answer... but you'll have to put up with a crap ton of blather to get there...

WEEK 2 MYSTERY SCORE BLATHER BLOG
Welcome back, SportBowlers! We started week one in fine fashion with a $55 Mystery Score win by Terry Ouellette... question is, how do we follow that up in week two? Our Mystery Score will open at $25, and another Progressive carryover pushes that pool up to $848 heading into week three.

WEEK 1 MYSTERY SCORE BLATHER...
Welcome back, SportBowlers! First and foremost, we'd like to announce that we have filled the final roster spot on Evan Chickering's new team! Welcome to our league, Justin Thiel! Great to have you as part of our SportBowling family here at GTP!

Better still, this addition allows me to cut out the first 3 out-of-control minutes of this video that probably would have placed us on Facebook's crap list the very first week! (But don't worry, there'll be plenty more opportunities for us to get censored.)

No one cashed this week in the Progressive, pushing that jackpot to $812, while the first Mystery Score draw of the year is worth $55. So without further ado, we join our regularly scheduled pile of blather already in progress...

HERE WE GO!!!
Don't look now SportBowlers, but our 24th season begins in less than 2 weeks, on August 20th! We held our Fall Formation meet last night, and while 2 of our teams disbanded, 2 new teams came in to fill the gap! Here are the highlights from last night's meeting:

o 34 week season (Thanksgiving, Xmas Eve, NYE off)
o 3 11-week rounds with season-ending tourney
o PBA Animal, Kegel & Youth patterns featured this year
o Random USBC Open pattern for week 34
o $30/week
o $30 sanction fee ($15 USBC, $15 GGUSBCA)
o GGUSBCA offering awards for 2026-27
o Progressive Jackpot: $772
o Mystery Score $30

We ask everyone to arrive early for week one (6:20p) to get administrative items out of the way. All other weeks, practice starts at 6:35p and league play begins at 6:45p.

We have already drawn for team numbers. WolfPac is team 11 this year and will have a week one bye each round.

I will be pulling this year's patterns via random draw in the coming days; watch for video of the event to see what's coming!

Welcome back, everyone! And welcome to our two new teams captained by Dave Umbrello and Evan Chickering!
